Funny Craigslist Ad

A new way to recruit?

Did you lose $$$? I found some $$$ in an envelope. Could it be yours?

Around noon on July 7, 2008, I found a white envelope at the north west corner of 10th and Granville. The envelope contained $10000 all in $100 dollar bills. If its yours I would love to return it to you!If you feel obligated to thank me, you could either make a donation to one of my prefered charities, or if you happen to have an old bicycle, I would love a good bike to ride to and from work. I will would like the person who lost the money to identify first how many $100 bills there are in the envelope, what time/ date it was lost, where you lost the envelope, and what colour the envelope is.
If the money is not collected by the rightful owner in 30 days I plan to donate it to Charity!
Hope to hear from you soon!

Call me at

I'm lost I don't get it, like someone would find an envelope with 10 grand in it????

and he said they were all 100 dollar bills, not too hard to figure out how many 100s were in the envelope

I reposted the ad and got this response:

Charity? No. You have a legal obligation to turn in the money to the police. Right now. If they don't find the owner in a specific time they will give it to you. THEN if you want you can donate it to charity.

But by not turning it in now you are committing a theft or larceny by preventing the police to find the rightful owner.

This is also a measure of your honor and integrity. What kind of person are you really?? Are you really honest?
What you do with this money will live with with you for the rest of your life. Do the right thing.

Retired lawyer

When I was young, I got 2 paychecks from work and had money for a new apartment / deposit gathered up for the next day.. Stopped from Currency Exhange at friends house, just to say hi.. Said no way I am going out as I had $6k cash on me. Well they convinced me to just go out for a pizza and a beer.. One thing led to another was at the night club
and I was totally ripped... I got lost from my ride and couldnt find em.. So I went outside called my girlfriend for a ride, well that never got accomplished, and i stumbed back into my crew but turned out I took my $6k cash and must of left it on the public phone there.. So its believable I lost it... and some mother fucker got really lucky that night

Yeah I was gonna pull this one stunt on Craigslist similar to this.

I put an ad up saying I found a green bag with 3k in and I asked what color is the bag? And all these people replied "GREEN, IT'S GREEN" etc. I was going to get them all to meet me at a Starbucks in NY but never bothered. Would have been hilarious watching from across the street though, all these suckers waiting around, aha.

When I was like 15, I found an envelope at Sea World once with 15 each of tickets to all of the major theme parks in Orlando and about $5k in it.

Of course the first thing I did was show it to my parents because I was so psyched that we were going to have all that fun. My Dad made me turn it in and a very happy group of Japanese tourists that had lost it got it back and gave me $5 as a reward.

When I was young I put my money in my sock, then put my sock on, then put the shoe on. My toe hurt but I saved $6k.

That's the point.... to get you to call - might be a way to thin out the herd though... smarter people tend to be richer people

I saw you couched down with your pants around your ankles. I asked "Hey, what are you doing?". Your reply was "Pooping in a groundhog hole! I read about it online. It's suppose to trick the groundhog into thinking another animal has moved into it's lair.".

Since you are normally a sane person I refrained from calling the police.
