I reposted the ad and got this response:
Charity? No. You have a legal obligation to turn in the money to the police. Right now. If they don't find the owner in a specific time they will give it to you. THEN if you want you can donate it to charity.
But by not turning it in now you are committing a theft or larceny by preventing the police to find the rightful owner.
This is also a measure of your honor and integrity. What kind of person are you really?? Are you really honest?
What you do with this money will live with with you for the rest of your life. Do the right thing.
