I live in the uk and have not noticed any difference in the way of life because of muslims. I would say americans notice a much bigger difference because of mexicans than we do muslims. I think some americans might read certain news sources and get a picture of europe which is very different from reality. Much like people in europe who think all americans are obese and stupid, im sure they are not.

You hear lots of rumbling about discontent in UK, France, and to a lesser extend the EU.

I obviously don't live there, so I want to know from those who do what it's like first hand. How has it changed your life at all, or has it made no difference?

Sounds like so far those who have responded have not noticed a large difference. I hope it stays that way, but I suspect it will not.

Anyone have good examples of Muslims blending in to communities as opposed to trying to transform them? Love to hear about it.

So far there's no difference to more Muslims living in Scotland that I see. Apart from that shit in the paper the other day about the advert for the puppy. I think there might be a different view coming from people in England tho. Scotland is a small country and not exactly popular. Its mostly Polish people who are coming here for work and so on since Poland came into the EU.

Some years ago there was the myth about US, it was some kind of wonderland, the movies did a well job as propaganda or something like that, damn America America, everyone with the pocket full of money, no homeless people, "the good guys" myth and "cops of the world", and so on.
With the globalisation, 9/11 and other shit, the rest of the world realised that there are problems like everywhere, and yes there is idea that US is made of stupid and obese people.

That's not my personal opinion, at least the ones that I work online are all good people.

See, I'm interested specifically in Muslims because the core of the belief is so unmoving.

Races, for the most part, can blend in anywhere. People tend to blend, taking on some of the local traditions, mixing them with their own. At least that's what I've seen.

Religion, on the other hand, has a hard fast set of rules. You must do this, you must do that, and tends to cause islands of culture, which is in my mind disruptive to the existing culture. This causes tension.

You have to give Muslims in the UK some credit for slowly starting to modernize. I was reading the other day about a Mosque in London (I think) that now allows specific breeds of non drooly dogs inside as guide dogs. That's quite the step forward, all things considered.

Why are you getting so upset about me asking Europeans what their first hand experience has been with Muslims in Europe? Islam is the fastest growing religion in Europe, and the rest of the World too.

Let me first adress your question about experience.
I have never had problems with muslims in Denmark, Sweden or Norway (Scandinavia). They have never given me a hard time but lots of white people have given me shitloads of problems. My brother got attacked by two white guys high on E. A bunch of muslims helped my brother when he most needed it and got him to the hospital. My favourite bar is owned by a muslim who cried on 9-11 for the people who died.

I live in one of the most racists countries on the planet and after TWO world wars we STILL haven't learned that we CAN NOT judge everyone for what the few is doing.

This thread is not even close to being meant as informative nor do you have an honest interest in what you were asking (if you claim otherwise you mock my intellect).

In Hungary the number of muslims is very low. My first girlfriend's father was iraqi, and he was a good man, he is a respected teacher at a famous economical university @ Budapest. I think as far as a religious person is not willing to change the faith of another, there's no problem at all.

But knowing history probably Buddhism is the only religion with real peacefulness.

BTW hungarian people in average are very radical nowadays, they hate everybody, gypsies, jews, black people... It is very sad I know When I was around the age of 14, I was a little punk who dedicated most of spare energies to fight corrupted minds. With little success...

But I still run a blog which has a motto like: "psychedelic information page in the name of Peace, Love, Unity and Respect" . Yes, I used to eat a lot of acid and mushrooms earlier.. ;)

Europe has not been "Islamised" or what ever. In fact the influx of foreigners over the last 50 years has brought benefits and problems. Too many to cover completely here. Here's a few.

On the plus side there are lots of places to buy groceries at times when most shops are closed. Some of the best Chines, Indian, Greek, etc. restaurants are in London. Children learn to tolerate and fit in with people of other races.

Downside are ghettos of cultures.

A lot of the problems racists blame on people of a different culture are brought about by poverty and ignorance. There would be high crime, slums and all the other problems if the people were white. In fact one of the things you have to admire about some of the races is their ability to rise out of poverty and ignorance. Compare Muslim students exam results with white children's to see the proof.

I see Warchild lives in Costa Rica. I wonder if he's an indigenous Indian of the region and how he feels about the "Latinisation" of his country.

I see people have pointed out that the problem with some Islamist's has nothing to do with the religion. It's largely due to their education and culture.
