i made an account on hotornot thinking it was a cool site and i didnt know how it worked. then like once a week i get these emails saying that girls want to meet me but you have to pay a monthly fee to do it. i'm not about to pay to get some girls email address even if she is hot.

LOL I just signed up for one and actually am having a ball with it. It's no different than going out into public or to a night club. You have to weed out the dysfunctional, deal with the drunks and discover everyones personal baggage before you meet someone nice.

I have also tried to use it to sell my site in another part of the country and it doesnt get a great response, the guys get pissed and turn you in for spam.

well, I never used a chatroom.... it was when MatchMaker.com first hit the Net..... you had to pay to put in a profile of yourself and browse other profiles, so it weeded out all the bullshit and fake users.... you could message anyone you found interesting. Pretty cool. I used to enter that chat room and stay there just reading and visiting other sites or studying HTML in another browser window. Then she sent me a private msg and started to chat. That time I was broke as hell... I was just 15. A few months later I travelled alone for the first time to go there met her.
