i can not wait for this... firefox 3 is far superior in speed and memory footprint than its predecessor. just a release candidate ( rc1 ). but it shouldn't be long now

For some reason FF 3RC1 don't allow to upload files in WP 2.5.1. visual editor (no "Browse" button). Am I the only person who has such a problem?

Yeah, FF3 is definitely far superior to most browsers out there. They've really done some amazing work under the hood on this one.

Can you install the British English version if you have a US keyboard layout and US version of Windows installed, I wonder? Microsoft Office used to freak out when I tried installing British English when it knew I was on a US keyboard..

Why do I have the feeling I won't be able to tell the difference from the old Firefox?

Isn't web surfing about connection?

No, not nearly. Under the hood, the browser has to do a lot of work reading the HTML, Javascript, XML, flash and other elements that have all been added to websites.
And while we take all that for granted these days, it really has grown into quite the complex beast.
Firefox 3 has been rebuilt from the ground up to streamline all of that and really chew through it really fast.
It also does resolve some connection issues as well. Remember that it's not just your computer connecting to a web server, it's your browser establishing that connection.

So everything from the initial request to how the page is rendered to your screen is faster.

I can't tell a huge difference yet....but its looking pretty cool.

Then again I'm on a Quad machine big time overclocked with 4 gigs of ram...so noticing small differences isn't going to be quite as apparent yet.

i have dual core and 4g ram and I had a huge lag from when I hit enter til when I saw the page

it woul always hang for like 2 seconds before it started loading the page, then because I have a insanely fast connection it would load in a second or two...i always thought it was the isp hanging due to finding the site, but with ff3 it doesn't do it anymore, i am loading instantly now

A lot of the add-ons were not compatible at first... but they are all catching up with the release. My most important add-ons work great!

I really like this new version.

Cool, I'm keeping an eye out for greasemonkey!

FF3 seems to have trouble with auto-refreshing pages. Mine eventually shits out after a few refreshes and goes into a weird cycle. It doesn't affect the other tabs, though.

NO it does not! I downloaded RC1 on one of my PCs and roboform does not work with it. So, I downloaded the previous version of FF and while roboform works with it now FF does not work at all. All the PC says is "FireFox has stopped working"

If you use roboform do not get FF3. And it looks like you cannot go backwards from 3.0 to 2.0.

Anyone and everyone who writes javascript/extensions uses "setTimout" to do anything delayed and for some reason, with FF3... that's no longer supported.
That is to say, it sorta works for a bit and then craps out.

There is a new way to do it, but it means having to change all that stuff in all the extensions.
