It's not easy but it's all about planning and organization. On Fri's, I update MyWhiteTeens, on Sat I update MelindaTeen and on Sun, I update SweetCuties. During the week I do tgps and shoot content. Porn is my life

If you don't really know what you're doing, don't start a paysite until you do. Start out with making a few hundred small free sites, experiment a bit, get them listed in directories like dmoz, and make sure you have dynamic links which you can change through a single admin.
Start experimenting with AVS sites, and see what converts best for your traffic.
When you feel you know enough, start that paysite and immediately be able to send a few dozen k hits a day. After that, be sure to set up a decent partnership program (and know where to get good partners).
Update often, be innovative, and constantly learn.

What kind of hosting should I get for a paysite? Same kind of hosting as everything else or should I be looking for specific features?
Should I be paying per gig?

I dont have to worry about it being a high volume site but I'm thinking about all of the bandwith the movies are going to eat up.

If you want to start a paysite nowadays, I would suggest you start with a subscription to an AVN Magazine, and as earlier pointed out try and see what works for you.

AVS etc is also a good start

Make sure you get a hosting company which accepts Adult and is equipt to handle cgi.

Porn is my live and I also update a Paysite per day. It's all in how you orginize it. I get up, update my site of the day (or 2 depents) than do other work, like traffic, shoot content, paperwork, surf GFY etc.

Yes I do believe it is still possible to make money in Paysites if you are new (expecially if you have an original idea) , however you might want to start with an offshore company (see sig) and not pay the 750 dollar penalty. At least you don't have rebills etc to worry about.

In addition to some of the worthwhile advice here (what the fuck? a bit of informative posting on GFY???) I would also add that you defeinately need your own traffic pumps. Don't rely solely on a sponsorship program. Use your own traffic and see what works and what doesn't. You have to be totally original to work o a small scale. You also need GOOD hosting. Price should not be a factor when shopping for paysite hosting. Cogent bandwidth for 50 cents a gig is fine for TGPing, but it's not going to work for your paysite. You should also automate everything as much as possible (especially if you don't have employees to do things like upload new content, oversee member's areas, etc.

If your site is a specific niche, then seek out freesite owners with sites related to your niche and work on private deals for traffic. Get a starter base of 10-12 people ho have sites in your niche and work with them by providing things like content and custom adverts.

Unless you have a substantial amount of money in the bank, you're going to have to be satisfied with building slowly and just keep folding your money back into the business. You should also run it as a business. Get incorporated, set up with a good attorney and an accountant (believe me, from personal experience, I can tell you get a GOOD accountant. We had one take us for a LOT of money and it's still a big pain in our ass trying to get shit straightened out).

It's not easy and is going to be much harder with the new Visa regulations, so you'll definately need to keep on top of your customer service. A lot of even the big boys are going to be going through difficult times the next few months. Now, you can look at this two ways: get the fuck away from the paysite game or look to carve out a small niche amongst the turmoil. Remember, that as a smaller company, you can live on what would be a devestating income loss for bigger companies, but you're going to have to fight much harder for traffic.

I wasn't planning on affiliates so I can keep the membership price low, then raise it slowly if it looks like I can. I definetely want some sales/retention numbers before I asked any webmasters to sell memberships the site. If the site doesn't convert I'd never be able to get webmasters coming back to try promoting it again.

It is niche...something that surfers are asking me for and noone else is really doing well. I promote a sponsor that does something similar and the sales are decent, but I know I could do it better.

I'm looking into ImageFolio to keep it all automated. It's pretty cheap and heard it works great.

Thanks for the rest of the info, didn't think about getting incorporated, accountans and lawyers, but I guess I should.

seriously though man... paysites are one hell of an animal.... to do it right involves spending amazing amounts of money on content and employees... and if you want to actually make big $$$ off of it you need thousands upon thousands of affiliates.... and that costs even more.

In all honesty... dont bother. Do free sites, avs.. whatever.. but paysites should be left up to the big boys.

I mean shit... at 35-40 per signup you do realize that you're makin more off of a customer than the sponsor right?... so why would you suddenly want to become *the sponsor* ???
