you know it!

these machines are PERFECT for your sites guys. perfect for startup sites, or a nice dual xeon for something that needs a bit more power.

We can match these up with brand new QUADCORES and get a very good cluster setup handling all aspects of your website. Members area, tours, gals, NATS, etc!

We will take care of you!

Maybe your mouse wheel accidentally scrolled it up the O/S list, I just tested and it does indeed work with Ubuntu and we actually have many orders with people choosing Ubuntu (its pretty popular now a days)

Anyways, I see that you had it taken care of very quickly by our support. Have fun!

You sure can! You get full root access to your machine, as well as a very nifty "all inclusive" management portal which includes

- Bandwidth Graphs
- Support
- Authorized Contacts
- Monitoring
- Billing / Invoicing
- Automated Backups (VERY COOL - you input your server information into our system, then choose what directories you want backed up, and at what schedule! This is completely self-configured on your end from within our software, so its 100% customized to exactly how, what, and when you want to backup your data!)

the Dual Xeons are going fast, pretty much one of the best deals around right now.

There is no catch guys. This is ALL premium network, not using subpar providers, and we don't have downtime every second.
Search here on GFY or on www.webhostingtalk.com you'll see real life experiences from current customers.

datatank, I can work something out for you. Pricing would depend on what type of hardware you need to support that 100Mbps of bandwidth usage.
It'll be very competitive though, especially considering we use no cogent, he.net or yipes bandwidth. Only premium and tier-1 backbones.

Email me directly and let me know what type of hardware you want to couple it with and I'll get back to you immediately. I have all the newest CPU's available including X3220 Quadcore Xeons and Harpertown 12MB Cache Quadcore Xeons.

Dont really care about hardware. It would just be used for serving up media.

qxm, you should be able to get quite a few blogs running on it indeed. I'd estimate in the area of 20+, however that is all subjective.
What are they running on right now?

Let me know... I can definitely get you rolling and this would be an excellent way for you to introduce yourself to our hosting.

No problem, I've gotten your email just now and replied back. We arnt a cheap throwaway host so we won't offer Cogent $10/Mbps type pricing, but we are still competitive.
After all we use ALL premium network providers and have real on-site support. It ain't cheap to be good

I used to run TGPs getting something like 150k-200k uniques a day on a server no where near as beefy as that $79 one..

Maybe you guys should have some alternate packages.. I was looking at your stuff, but for a lot of my sites I don't need anywhere near 2000G of BW.. I'd much rather have maybe 500G but a lot better hardware with RAID-1, more IPs etc.

Hi Tempest,

Lowering the bandwidth won't affect the pricing. The 2000GB is a standard offering and factored into the backend.
The bulk of the pricing is based off the cost to acquire the hardware and the amortization schedule our business plan is based on and it comes out pretty low for the type of hardware being offered.

If you email me, I am sure I can put something together for you hardware wise and I should be able to keep it competitive as well.
For example, for $5 more than the $79 machine I have:

Intel P4 3.0Ghz, 2MB Cache w/ HyperThreading
1GB DDR2-667 RAM
160GB SATA-2 HDD
$84/month

I can add a second drive into that and get you running on RAID-1 for not much more.

If you're not feeling that and want to specify something else, contact me so I can get you customized I'm sure I have a machine that will fit your needs. I have tons of machines available.

alex ..[@..] pacificrack.com

Thanks Tempest!

Even with modules disabled, its still CPU heavy. Even the biggest blog sites out there have to have a large amount of machines to handle the traffic they are getting. The amount of traffic to the amount of servers is not proportionate with any other non-wordpress type of site.

We continually buy new server stock, so it is likely that the oldest a server will be is a few months. All hardware is burned in when we get it though, as even new hardware can have faults so to help ensure we deploy stable machines, we burn the hardware in for 24 hours and then re-stock it in a different set of shelves.

We also stock full replacement parts and have a 2 Hour Hardware Replacement SLA! This is one of the strongest in the industry.

That looks like a great setup for a low end user like me. I'm looking at a competitor's package at this time. Are you able to match pricing but i do love your pay per incident support if needed.

DaveMac, I may be able to price-match depending on how absurdly low their pricing is. Our machines are already low cost for the specs, so anything lower has me suspicious of their quality

Definitely email me though and lets see what we can do! alex --@-- pacificrack.com

Thanks for the quick response. I'll definately shoot you an email early next week on this. I'm looking at migrating from my old server to a new one over the next 2 weeks before the end of the month.
