Bump

Maybe I should have added this. This was posted by another person in relation to my original question about a registry

Which registrars are best at handling complaints? And working through them without just yanking domains?

All namecheap fans ? How are their volume discounts ? Their prices look pretty expensive compared to what I pay with Moniker.

Moniker is the best registrar I have tried. They have great customer service, great pricing, great integrated features, and great security.

I checked out Moniker, sent a ICQ to Bari and 2 days later still no response ....so that in itself is a big strike against them and a sign of bad things to come in the future! Obviously they don't need my business and I will look elsewhere.

Thanks, and please don't feel bad about not getting right back to me. You have been away at a show and I was unaware of it. You came with some high recommendations and I will definitely keep what we talked about in mind.
And I should have not waited to the last minute to get this stuff transferred...

I'll paste what I told Zester:

U (15:30):
hey, how's it going, this is Zester from GFY, you mind sharing with your opinion on Moniker ?

Tranza (15:34):
I've had one single problem with them. But I considered this to be a pretty fucked up one. I had my Godaddy account hacked once, and all my domains where stolen. After this hacker/scammer did this, he parked my domains using a parking service from Moniker to redirect my traffic and make money. After I tried to contact Monikr several times about this, so that they would close his account, they simply ignored me. I was able to get my domains back a week later anyway. But what shoked me is that they simply didn't care at all. Also, whoever did this already hit quite a lot of GFY webmasters, doing the exact same thing, and Moniker NEVER closes this scammer account.

Tranza (15:35):
Cliff notes: they support scammers.

U (15:36):
any idea how the godaddy account got hacked ?

Tranza (15:39):
There are 2 ways they do this.
1- They send a fax with some false documents stating that they are the owners of that domain and want to move it to another GoDaddy account
2- They simply hack you password.

Tranza (15:40):
If you do a search on GFY you'll see that MANY people have been fucked by this exact same scam in the past. And they ALWAYS use Moniker to park the domains stolen.

U (15:42):
kind of a shelter for scammers.... Moniker

U (15:43):
i see

Tranza (15:43):
Yep, that's it.

U (15:43):
so you've been working with namecheap and had no problems with them ? for a few years now ?

Tranza (15:47):
Yep, I've used them for quite a while, and just recently I moved all my domains to them.

U (15:48):
sounds good, thanks for the time mate
cheers

Tranza (15:48):
No problem. See you later man.

Hey Tranza,

Who did you contact here at Moniker to get that issue resolved? Getting domains hacked from Go Daddy is serious and (at the time) Moniker?s monetization service (TrafficClub) had a very strict approval policy. I can?t imagine that no one from Client Services dept. helped you out with this. I am sorry.

<---- very happy with Moniker.
<---- not so happy with namecheap (their control panel is still messed up (If you transfer a domain away from namecheap, they keep listing it in your namecheap account. If you request epp codes, 1/5 of the time you get some timeout error, 1/5 of the time you get an epp code that doesn't work, 3/5 of the time it works.))
<---- never had a problem with godaddy but been moving my domains away from them over the past 6 months (don't really trust them).

If nothing has change namecheap is an enom reseller. Thats the way it was a few years ago anyways not sure if its changed. Dont think it has. I have an enom reseller account. But with the recent price gouging by enom my price has gone up with enom would love to fine someone with a better price thats reliable. I love the enom control panel etc Ive never had any issues. I have a domain or two at moniker and they seem good but my price at moniker is higher than enom even tho I only have a little over 100 domains it adds up.

I can?t imagine that no one from Client Services dept. helped you out with this. I am sorry.
you still didn't answer my question

Bump for Moniker.

I wouldn't trust my domain's with a company that has CHEAP in the name ;)

You're wrong........ it did change a few months back. They are now officially an ICANN accredited registrar and can operate entirely separately from enom (although they havent done that transition yet).
