If I'm late ... most clients understand ... if I'm HORRIBLY late, I sometimes give them a discount. No matter WHAT my reasons... You owe him the 10 banners, post the link here for him to redeem yourself a little. Then continue fighting over the rest of the work. |
Here are the Banners
|
I have an idea for both parties...
BannerAnt... Give him the work, and give quantum a discount on the rest of the work you owe and he owes payment for... Quatum, if that satisfies you then great. If not, I dunno... LOL problem solved..... |

Bunny, D, Uno, headless, and everyone who took the time to read the thread, I appreciate it. I hope this was a head's up for everyone... [including myself] |
Now you can finish arguing on ICQ :)

you disagree with that? a head's up huh? Anyone that reads what I've been dealing with...should be able to understand why things were a bit late. |

If you're wrong, you're wrong dude... :thumbsup |

cliff notes are?
do not use BannerAnt? just to make sure since I am looking for a new designer? |
I know you feel squeezed into a corner BA. Pride is a tough thing and a bit of it on both sides I think. My suggestion, and take it as you will, is to put up a zip of the other banners you completed sans payment. Throw them in to help cover up the disagreement. Ill tell you now a move like that will get your more biz than what you lost in doing them. Just my :2 cents: Considering its not like you can use them anyways.

If you read the thread and the part about what I've been dealing with this month...and you still have that to say, that's fine...I wouldn't want to work for you anyway. |
what a fucking tard - all he was asking you for was the ZIP file of banners he had already paid for - and now you've posted them on GFY - so why the hell when you had them couldn't you have just sent them to him when he asked you to? and EVEN if you are telling the truth that you had sent him a link to them before maybe the email/ICQ didn't get to him you should have said 'oh ok i'll get you the link again or email you them'

Wow BannerAnt, you managed to not only be 100% wrong but also to erase any chance of anyone else ever hiring you. Congratulations.

God help me I actually read this entire thread. BannerAnt, it does not matter how good of a designer you are, it does not matter if you were 2 minutes late or 2 years late. You missed REPEATED deadlines. It goes like this:
1. He placed an order for 20 banners. 2. You showed him 10 completed banners and wanted 1/2 the money. He was nice enough to give you the money. I see repeated requests for a zip, all of which were ignored and then on the final day, you come up with some lame excuse that the zip link was on the page. You never mentioned that every time he asked for his banners, you just started saying that after you were told he did not want anything further. I call bullshit. So what we have here is a guy with some talent as a designer who will never make it as one because he will not handle his business as a business. What you are doing in this thread is turning off a hell of a lot of potential customers. What you need to do is to provide your customer with exactly what he paid for, and that would be 10 banners. If he does not buy the other banners, then you are SOL because he told you to stop working on them but you refused so it is YOUR fault for wasting additional time on them. I also want to point out, not sure if anyone else actually looked at the banners...but I would not be too happy about the same content being used more than once. You basically cut out a few girls in the first lot of banners, and then reused some of them on the second batch...probably because you were trying to save time..but those are shortcuts that I would not like a designer I am paying to make |

Without reading your mindless dribble...
Banner Ant seems to not know how to schedule things correctly. He is in business only when he needs money. So if you need something done ASAP you need to align your ASAP with his ASAP need for bill money. A good time to hire him is anytime from 28th - 31st. But don't let your work spill over into the new month because he won't be getting to it until the 14th when the car payment is due. Move along. |
I like the way you tell us How this designer fucked you and at the end tell us how this clown told you he is building a website full of stolen content...
Karma is a bitch across the board :disgust |

bannerant, you seem to be under the impression that there is such a thing as a "final deadline". a deadline IS final. you told him day after day you'd have his work done. when someone tells me that they'll be done the same day, i expect that it will be. period. otherwise they'd have the option to tell me a different day - that way, i can plan accordingly.
as far as telling a client all your roommate problems goes, i've seen people who post on this board work when they were ill, being evicted, with neighbor problems, computer problems, right after hurricanes, when their significant other was in the hospital or even dead. your personal problems are just that - YOUR personal problems. you can deal with them in many ways - put a lock on your bedroom door, move, get a separate office, throw your roommate out. the rest of us have schedules to keep, and saying "oh, sorry - the designer has roommate problems" isn't something most of us would like to tell those who are waiting on us. the easy way to avoid it is to work with designers who can keep their personal lives separate from their businesses. |
quantum, you should've hired me... I would've had the banners done for you in 24 hours. Just ask around, my clients love me because I deliver on time :)
|
Next time I'll know who to hit up :D
|
A real business man would have said "I am sorry for missing the dead line, enclosed is a link the files I have completed and I will complete and send you the rest of the work at no charge ASAP"
|
oops sorry wrong room need to get out here fast
I smell blood here :):):) |
