I actually did enjoy living in the SF/Bay Area, but since I was a kid my family moved around a lot, to different countries so I got a taste of what is out there and that carried through to when I got older.

Everyone has their own preferences, and each has a right to their own opinions but I always find it amusing how there are so many on here that bash other countries without ever living anywhere outside their own borders. And that goes for the US bashers as well.

for the most part the Government stopped listening to what the average citizen wanted a long time ago, and that is probably true of most governments around the world.

Seems the main motivation to get into the White House is so you can fatten up your pockets and that of your buddies.

There is no end to arguing about any countries policies ... the actual day to day life is what interests me.

(And living in the SF/Bay area is like a different country compared to most of the US)

lol yeah I agree that the Bay Area is definetely different...

To be honest since I moved my day to day life hasn't really changed that much, except I gave up living in a house to moving into an apartment.One of the things I did gain in my everyday life was time, sounds weird but not having to drive everywhere and living in a city where everything is walkable left me with more time to spend doing other things.

I moved here (Hong Kong) for the culture, I absolutely love it. I lived here when I was in my teens and the city has been in my blood ever since.

its definetely not for everyone, but Ive actually been surprised with how many people from the US, Canada and Europe that came here on 1-3 year work contracts ended up permanently moving here.

But like I always tell all my friends back in the US, its one of those places that is worth the visit, atleast once.

I moved from Canada to the US. Every country has its perks and downs. I prefer the US over Canada. Maybe I'd like the UK more, or even Morocco. Who knows.

You'd be completely shocked at the number of Canadians down here. Maybe it's just Socal but my grandpa in law is originally from Toronto (joined the US army and went to Korea in the 50s), and I've met dozens and dozens of Canucks while shopping or driving around.

I'm not shocked my first wife's parent's were from Canada. The only way you could tell was they didn't wear coats during our "cold" winters.
