I'm fucking tired of threads like this.

Show us the site or galleries the traffic is coming from. I guarantee if you name the sponsor you'll get a magical mercy join

seriously. So pointless. Wrong traffic then. Move on to another sponsor then. The traffic isn't right for it. Or just that's what the traffic is.

Names might get some real results. Like someone might say "yeah, XXXX/cash/dollars/bucks/bling converts like shit for me too!" But that could be bullshit from a competitor or someone who really does well with the site trying to steer you away.

If you're unhappy with the results, move on. Otherwise be happy it made at least 1 sale from it. And a couple of extra/bookmark sales could make that ratio much more bro worthy. Or if it rebills like wow you're doing great, unless it's PPS. In which case you're getting owned

Did you at least check the membership site to make sure it isn't a piece of shit?

its all about your traffic you might be doing very shitty with them and others that target their traffic correctly are calling them their best sponsor

I think people put too much into conversion ratios. I try to put some "real life" thought into our virtual world. For instance...I might go to a store and see something I want. Doesn't mean I'm gonna grab my wallet right then and there. Maybe it's a nice set of speakers for my car or something. I don't really NEED it, but I want it. So I come back and window shop a few times. Look at it and think "I want that" Then I may come back in a week or two and buy it.
Or maybe I want to buy it, but I'm a guy who is living paycheck to paycheck and I need to wait until after the end and/or the beginning of the month when I have paid all my bills and have a little money left over.
Or maybe my credit card is maxed and I just need to wait until I get it paid off.
Thinking like that has always been the way I look at sales. I always try to put myself in the surfers shoes. If you are sending real traffic (in other words real people who made a conscious decision to click that link and look at that site...not blindlinked or "tricked" into going there), then just be patient. There are a million variables in life that can affect how something does or doesn't sell.
If you're just throwing targeted traffic at a specific niche and hoping something will stick...then I have no advice to give as that has never been my way of making sales...though it has been very successful for a few people.

Unfortunately thats how a lot of sales get lost. Will most come back via your refcode? Doubtful.

I'm promoting one that is near it right now. I've long since ceased putting up new links for them but still send them a few hundred hits a day.

Some people don't like it when others talk about ratios. I love doing it myself. The numbers are a much better indicator than someone saying "try these guys they convert like mad" (How often do we see this shit with a ref code nearby?) or "they've never converted for me". If you don't merely stop at the numbers themselves but also try to understand the reason and reality behind them then they simply do not lie. When properly understood they are a great tool. Sure it is useless if you only post your ratio and nothing else. But if you explain the type of traffic, how your other sponsors convert, etc. it can be some valuable information. Especially when combined with the experiences of dozens of other affiliates.

Not to also mention the damn referrer cookie expires after 3 days, a week, 30 days if your lucky and 90-365 days if you've got a sweet sponsor.

p.s. Sponsors don't shave, they just adjust the cookie expiry time

I can see how that would be a major problem for a lot of ways of sending traffic. For me, I try to build a trust factor with the surfers at my tgps. No blind links, no redirects. Just simple honest links. If they click something they go there. If not, they don't. My goal and what I have achieved somewhat over the years is to get them to trust me and come back to my sites and use my sites as their portal to get to the paysites I promote. That way I don't have to overly worry about cookies doing the job for me. Surfer is on my tgp and sees something he likes...chances are he comes back to where he found it (my tgp) and clicks on it again. That has been my philosophy.

TGP.... WTF is that... I dont do TGP's all of my traffic is targeted traffic. Lets say I have the #1 spot for a great site on msn and google would a ratio of 1:6,987 be worth me sending that traffic.

Hehe, and there is even a worse trend: Many sponsors use warning pages that will push their own cookie on the surfer when he clicks through from the warning page to the main tour...grabbing all undecided returning visitors someone else may already have pre-sold and cookied.

You know, I've bought adwords spots and tried that same thing...Didn't see anything happen really. I love good spots on Google...but for porn it seems like a lot of those surfers using google to search are kids and such. Not making a general statement, just saying what my experience has been. I make more sales off of grampland than I do with Google adwords...and adwords is expensive! And a tgp can very much be targeted traffic. Grampland for instance, is a milf tgp. And a "real" tgp, not a circle jerk cookie cutter site. But if you think that Google spot is the be-all and end-all definition of targeted traffic, and you're sending to an honest program that you've done business with before...then try another program by all means. I just wouldn't know how to gauge that without owning my own tgp's and knowing my own traffic. By the way I get a few thousand hits a day from google to my tgps as well and love that traffic. To me when they use google to find grampland, and then use grampland to find the specific micro-niche of the milf niche...that is some pretty well targeted traffic right there. Anyway, good luck to ya, hope you get this took care of to your satisfaction

Try and locate a new sponsor, or maybe a new landing page from the same one that you are using.

You don't always get the best conversions with a name specific high ranking keyword. I have a few very nice spots for some solo girls, but usually he surfer is just looking for more free stuff of that girl. They already know her name and know her site, but search in the SE anyway for free stuff. That's not always the case and your materials might convert the surfer looking for freebies, but it happens.

Are you paying for the traffic?

So are you are saying is it's very targeted to the specific site or for the sponsor niche? If that is the case and your SERP is that high there is a major problem. I'd say there is no reason to drop them, but it depends on how hard you are pushing them which isn't defined here (there is a difference between actively promoting). I have one campaign that is similar but the difference on the SERP only affected it somewhat combined with the other practices - ex. had one at #6 and didn't do shit at 1:500 then it moved up to #2 and is at 1:100 (as soon as it moved, I started doing non SE specific stuff to it, but left it hanging for the entire time until it moved)

If what you are saying is it's completely dedicated campaign for that sponsor and niche/site that ratio is way fucked, should really be 1:100, 1:300 max.

I don't do TGPs, submit galleries or whatever either.
