Right now I have a few open I'm going to learn.
Phantasm Theme - Just Learned Twilight Zone - Just Re-Learned (previously forgot the tabs) Jaws Theme - Just Re-Learned (previously forgot the tabs) Nightmare on Elm Street Theme - Almost Learned. I can play it, just have to memorize it. Tales From The Crypt Theme - Starting on it. Right now I'm just screwing around with themes, as you can see. Last real songs I learned to play were: Guns N' Roses - Knocking on Heaven's Door Seether - Broken - The real catchy popular riff everyone knows. Still have to learn the chords part, etc.. Eric Clapton - Tears in Heaven - Main riff. That's all I really wanted to know how to play from that song. Those are all on just a plain guitar. As far as Bass goes the last songs I learned would be: Alice in Chains - Nutshell Nirvana - Smells like Teen Spirit Next song I'm going to learn on a regular guitar/acoustic would be: Metallica - Fade to Black Right now, I'm really trying to concentrate on my finger picking. Today I'm just taking a break and learning some themes to just screw around with. I make up quite a bit of stuff as well. I'm mostly into death metal music but I think this stuff will help me become a better guitarist. So, whats the last songs you learned or are currently learning to play? |

Nutshell is just fun to play on bass. Especially if a buddy knows it on guitar so you can play it together. That's the whole reason I learned how to play it. It sounds great when you have a good guitarist and you're playing it on bass. |

These 2 youtube covers inspired me to learn the songs...
https://youtube.com/watch?v=yvcqEnpg58o Northern star -- This chicks voice will make you fucking melt. https://youtube.com/watch?v=f9mMoa_vzA8 Cherub Rock -- bad singing, but love the guitar work. I've been playing this every day at least once for about 6 months. My girl hates this fucking song now. |

I haven't learned any new songs in so long ... I can pick stuff up by ear within seconds so I pretty much don't bother learning stuff properly anymore ... I tend to write my own songs these days for my band ...

I normally just jam over backing tracks rather than learn specific songs, but I did make an effort to work on Crazy Train.

Working on the Paranoid solo at the moment, doesn't seem too hard.

Tool - Aenema, been going at it for the last month or so. I totally overestimated my skills 'cause it turned out to be a highly technical song but now it's too late to stop.

Let's Play House - Elvis That rockabilly finger picking is a bitch! The bass line played with the low E, A and D and the melody played with the high E B and G. Still learning it.

Since DimeBag Darrel died I have really been looking at his stuff for the past couple years.
He was actually ahead of his time and he aint one of the kind of guys you can learn from note for note as he was obviously a self taught player. Messy abstract, loud yet insanely cool sounding.

long story short, ever since I lent my Marshall Valvestate 8080 to a friend (which was stupid) and never got it back I haven't played guitar much. This was roughly 4 years ago. Actually, along with the amp there was my effects processor, a smaller practice amp and my Ibanez EX. All I had left in the end was my 1950's fender stratocaster.
Why didn't I just buy a new amp? Financial problems so I didn't have the cash to just throw away. As soon as I sell my house I will be buying a new one so hopefully that will be soon. Never was that good of a guitarist anyway haha. I never really took it seriously, but I think that once I get my new amp I will play more and try to learn more.
