The posting that goes into WWE is very time consuming. Thats why it looks real. They have some of the best editors in the industry working their. Their production suites are worth over a million bucks each. Their post house runs 24/7. They use toys in post that you cant begin to imagine. Top of the line equipment all through the place. And having over 50 Digital Beta decks in their tape room ensures that they can make multiple pass's with no degregation in quality.

Do you want to know how I know this? Stan (my future husband) worked at WWF/WWE in their post house for a few years. He has seen every trick they use. They are located in Stamford, CT. About 2 miles from home.

Sorry dude, its all fake and scripted. Why do you think the company that owns WWF is called WWE?. They 'E' is for entertainment.

Sorry to break you the news. Its fake. This info comes from someone who worked at WWF/WWE.
i suggest you talk to your future husband because again because there is a significant different between staged and fake.

ask the WWE lawyers in the wrongful death suit for owen hart, they settled big time specifically because when the stunt man association cleared him for the stunt it was without the cape and the mask (unobstructed view ala shawn micheals) and he fell to his death because when he did the stunt live and his cape got caught in the zip harness.

Like professional stunt men like Jackie Chan, Samo Hung there stunts are real but staged. When Jackie chan broke his foot in supercop, or in the cracked ribs in RIB. When the hell in the cell roof broke and mick foley fell 20 feet to the mat, that was just as real as jackie chan's injury.

Stunts are real, but the matches and all the moves throughout the matches are scripted and pre-rehearsed.

This I know firsthand, not an opinion.

We happen to own the largest Indy Wrestling company in Canada, that is well known to all Indy wrestling fans. We are a extreme hard-core Fed, similar to the old ECW. Much better than that boring old WWE ;)

IWS definitely rocks

It's good to see some of your guys moving up though into Ring of Honor and Japan...

Doom,
I did maintenance on all the equipment. The tape machines, switchers, editing shit and pretty much everything in the place. I grew to love working on their digital beta machines and GVG switchers. Those are fun to work on. I was sent on a few remotes, did 2 of those wrestlemania gigs.

Its insane how much production goes on with those shows. The posting is even more insane. It takes about 3 days to go through all the raw tapes and another 2 days to post it all. It was a pretty sweet gig but the deadlines were stressful at times.

I still freelance their now and then. Im more than happy to take $$$ to babysit. Its free money.... Speaking of free money-

Hey Metaman, When will I be seeing that $10K?

That does sound like a sweet gig. I used to do promotional work for the original ECW and I had the opportunity to work for them full-time, but I had a fantastic career at the time that I wasn't willing to leave. My old roommate wrestled for them and I usually went on the road with him on weekends when I could, and that ended up translating into a pretty solid side gig with them. It was a lot of fun and some of the best memories of my life...

UFC is the most phony fucking thing around, these guys sit around hugging all day and it's more set up than boxing.

funny to see ppl here who seriously think its real

re: your bet not only is the WWF (tm) real, it is the World Wildlife Fund and it took the trademark back from the original WWF quite some time ago, it's now WWE, so you, in fact, lost the bet.

am i the only one who has seen the documentaries of Wrestling schools? I saw John Cena go thru his wrestling college and getting taught how to pull off the moves properly etc...

Jesus christ...

I mean it's a common fact that Metaman is kinda stupid but not stupid enough to believe wrestling is real, how the fuck come that 10+ people here tries to prove him wrong?

I am guessing some GFY'ers are seeing a chance to show off some sort of knowledge at least that in all their exitement they fail to see it's a joke....

do you really think that when jackie chan does on of his fight scenes it is not scripted and reheased to death. The fight scene that he did in around the world in 80 days which was a lot of flurish took 2 MONTHS of planning.

stunts are stage and pre-rehearsed but are still real, you can get seriously hurt

Wrestling is exactly the same thing, they plan out the fight, define the outcome, and use props to minimize the impact but they are still real potentially bone crushing events.

Mick foley lost a ear because the ring ropes were to tight in a hangman
owen hart died because his zipline got caught

chris candino died from complications from a broken leg

hell in the undertaker vs mankind hell in the cell match, the top of the cell broke and mike foley fell to the ring getting a concussion and losing most of his front teeth because the chair fell after him.
