My Ron Paul Prediction.

I have read time and time again how Paul is the up and comer and he is raising all this money and he will make a real run. Most of his supporters have said the polls don't matter (for many reasons) while I have argued the opposite and said the polls are rarely wrong.

So, we are only 2 days away from the Iowa Caucus where everyone, Paul especially, wants to make a good showing.

I predict he will get around 7% of the vote and that will be good for 5th or 6th place. Not much of a splash.

the reason he'll never win is because too many people just vote for names they hear rather than what they know about them. ask any random person on the street here in the US and the only candidates they can name are obama and hillary.. its sad but thats the reality of the situation.

I've seen a speach he has done....and he does seem to say a lot of the
right things....however that's all he does...ask him how he thinks he'll
achieve it and he won't be able to tell you.....A lot of his views sound great
but they only work on paper.

For the record I feel he is like most of the candidates running. He says some stuff I like, and some stuff I don't like. I agree with him on some things, and not at all on other things.

Paul could only run as Bloomberg's vice if he wanted to have any kind of chance. Sure Paul has raised some money, but it will take 150-200 million to be competitive in the race once the primaries are over. Paul would either run out of money fast, or he wouldn't be able to spend as needed and nobody would know who he was. Bloomberg on the other hand could spend 500 million and not feel it.

Not saying anyone is better.....just saying that he blows a lot of hot air and
not much more than that......His willingness to make changes is probably his
biggest asset....question remains even when he'd get into office if that would
be enough

He's going to need a lot more people willing to make changes before getting
any of it done

Huckabee has next to no chance of winning the general election so I wouldn't spend too much time worrying about him. He is the star right now, but in about a month they will be leaving the bible belt states and he will have to content in the more progressive states many of which still have him running 3rd or 4th.

Yep this is sad, but true. There are a lot of people that will vote for Rudy just because of 9/11. There are a lot of people that will vote for Hillary just because they know here name. There are many reasons people vote for who they do and sadly most of them have very little to do with what issues the candidate stands for or against or if they really believe that this person will be a good president.

well when u consider that a good majority of americans cant even find Great Britain on a map, and majority of young school kids in this country dont know milk comes from a cow - u cant expect the population to make a wise choice about something as complicated (and corrupted) as politics

The polls are rarely wrong in general elections, primaries are a bit more tricky. Paul is banking on the fact that the people who will be voting for him are not your typical registered Republicans. That a good portion of his voters will be newly registered Republicans (mainly independents and Libertarians who don't vote in primaries). Polls target registered voters who have voted before in the primaries.

I think Obama will run into the same issue and I actually see him winning Iowa. His voters are much younger and new to the primaries, not the people being polled. My prediction is Obama barely wins Iowa and Paul grabs 10%.
