Please help me assemble a table (picture inside)
I am done assembling the whole thing except for the last part of the table. There is a round base that is attached to a pole. There are 3 bolts and washers that are supposed to go in with an Allen wrench.
![]() I can only fit in one bolt in but the other 2 are stuck. I tried doing it simultaneously, like do one bolt a little at a time and go on to the next one but it's still stuck. How do I get all the bolts in? |

First, I'd just start the tip of the first, second and third bolts, then I'd tighten them all down halfway, then, finally, tighten them all the way down.

Cross threading can be cured with a small file and carefully clean the grooves on the bolt. Sometimes, you can get past the stuck part. Good luck.

How many threads go through before it siezes?..could be the nut needs a tap to run through it first so it cleans the threads

Yup loosen the one you have already in, lube 'em up and take em all in a little at a time. If that doesn't do it then it is a threading issue.
Gotta love high quality manufacturing? Lemme guess, IKEA? |

I don't know. Are you asking me how many round circles are going through before it gets stuck? I don't know because the bolt is going inside so I can't see.

Ok, what I did was I took the whole base off and tried screwing the bolts DIRECTLY into the holes with nothing in between and same thing, 2 bolts keep getting stuck. I think that the holes weren't drilled right to begin with and that's why they just won't go in.
Is this something that can be fixed? If I hire a handyman will they be able to get those two bolts in for me even IF the holes were drilled in wrong to begin with? |

I'd consider returning/exchanging the thang. Sounds like the threads were fouled up from the factory, either on the bolts or the holes.

I would prefer not to because it's all already assembled except the last part, plus it's a lot of work to unscrew everything and pack it, plus I cannot carry it to the post office to mail it back (it's too heavy for me and I have no one to help me). Is there a way to get it to work?

Looked at your pics. Do this.
Using your allen wrench simply work the bolt in back and forth so that each time you go in a little further. You might try some ![]() Have you tried putting the bolt that goes all the way in the one hole in the other two? You need to isolate if it is the screws that are messed up, or the holes themselves. |
