I know I have slid on gravel as I turned right at a crossing but I had just pulled of so wasent even doing 5 mph but the front wheel hit the gravel as I went round the corner and the bike just slid.
I decided to watch the clip. I would say that it is inexperience. Looked like he was trying to steer thru the turn instead of lean into it causing him to go wide right.

My first thought when the clip started was that the bikes were rentals. I think it was confirmed when one of them ran one of those trikes off the road.

Now, I have heard of some guys that can never seem to shake it, but I think you have been riding too long to be one of those.
Yep. You're right. When you're right, you're right.

I'll be back. Thinking about "upgrading" to a homegrown brand.

Hehe your weather is a lot nicer over in the USA and I think because I never had a car licence up until a couple of years ago I only had a full bike licence so that was the only way I could get around and go to work, Plus I was a motorcycle courier for two years and in the winter over here its bloody horrible. I will never completly stop riding its something I now enjoy in the summer months maybe its just old age I dont know but when the sun is shining there is nothing better than jumping on my bike and going down the New Forest. I used to belong to a side patch club but they decided to go back patch and they got to involved with the HA over here which I really did not want to get to involved with..but I sure miss those rallys..and I guess those good old days are gone but never forgotten

I have lost a lot of friends in bike accidents and know a few more that will be dealing with their injuries for the rest of their lives.

The last guy was more of an acquaintance and was a little crazy on a bike, several people had even said that he would kill himself on a bike and he did.

The bike he was riding was smaller than he was used to, a Katana 600. I was actually hanging out with him the day before the crash at a friend's place. He was heading up to Whistler for the night and was trying to find people to ride up there with him, but just ended up going alone. On the way back on the sea to sky highway, the most dangerous hwy's in Canada, he hit the wall at a speed of around 200kmh and was killed instantly he probably didn't even know what happened. Needless to say there wasn't much left of him at that speed.

Our other buddy that has the same model bike has not ridden since and this was over 2 years ago now.

I am always cautious around bikes when I am driving a car. I try to keep my distance and never tailgate as a bike can stop way faster than a car and are pretty easy to go down and I don't need to have running over a careless /inexperienced or just all around unlucky biker on my mind.

I knew another guy that was a little dumb and hr broke his collar bone snowboarding and was told by the doctor to take it easy for at least 8 weeks, which meant no boarding biking etc. So what does he do, he goes boarding again the following week, ( it was the beginning of the season and he had season's pass at Whistler) anyways he ends up fucking it up even more on the exact same jump he had originally broke it.

2 weeks later he was riding his bike, a brand new R1. He could barely pull in the clutch and could not turn his head to shoulder check he should never have been driving even a car. Anyways he ended up putting the bike down and totalling it injuring his collar bone even more. The bike slid under a mini van at a very busy intersection..

Some people are just not that bright

Looks to me like he was running wide, thus lent it into the corner more to turn in, not allowing for the weight of the pillion on the small bike, thus he put the peg or stand onto the road which in turn lifted the back wheel up inducing a tailslide.

I have done the exact same thing with a pillion on my bike, luckily there was no guard rail and we were doing lower speed.

Yeah if you have a pillian that is not used to bikes it can be scary when they tense up or try and lean the other way while taking corners

That is the reason why I don't drive a bike....Of course shit can happen in a car too. But you are more safe than on a bike for sure
