Talking of USA affiliate programs, most of the time. There are a lot of international webmasters. Any thoughts? Are they going to raise the prices or keep it this way?

they are going to loose a nice share of traffic comming from international webmasters (non US). i'm sure when the situation becomes unbearable, they are going to switch to competition paying out in EUR (for example). i don't believe US companies are the only ones in this market...

are we forgetting that the majority of porn buyers are located in the us and its the currency of choice?

try charging british pound sterling to americans and see the chargeback ratio.

americans making american dollars shouldnt really affect their purchasing power. as for international markets.. either you hedge your bet or just take it as another cost of doing business with the USA market.

Not in the game yet, as far as having a billing site, but I have thought about this.

We will charge American dollars, since that is our market.

Once the money is in the bank though, I am considering converting it to Euros. My confidence in the US economy is pretty low, at least for the next 3-5 years.

you can only give so much. sucks, but thats the bottom line for programs. with it being a 50/50 "to the table deal" (you bring traffic, we provide the content and product) between partner and affiliate, the program is always the one taxed to "give more"

bottom lines only allow so much, no matter who they are.

European companies are respectable...just not as profitable. (in general)

If they raise prices then volume will decrease so in the end you're in the same boat. Doesn't make any sense.

max'd out cards is a typical characteristic of the american economy for the past.. 30 years thus its somewhat seasonal

decline in value of the dollar wont affect their purchasing power NOW. why would they spend less if their currency is worth less COMPARED to other currencies? From what i remember CPI has not increased significantly. Prices wont jump significantly as they did with the fluxuation of the american dollar in the past 3-4 weeks.

rise in gas prices is the only thing americans can see as an increase in expense... for your argument :D

For some reason most of the non U.S. webmasters in these dollar threads lately just don't understand that people in the U.S. haven't been affected by the dollar's value vs other currencies....and other than the occasional blip on the nightly news most of them don't even know about it.

We are with Verotel so we charge US dollars for every county outside the EU and GB. So we can charge Pounds in Great Britian and Euros throughout Europe. Works great....

A join is a join is a join. Every join has a certain VPS, regardless of currency. Sponsors should and will do nothing, when you deal in a foreign business, you expose yourself to currency risk.

If anyone can find surfers to pay $40 euro a month for a site, then I would happily pay $30 - $35 euro on that.

How many paysites would survive billing at US$57+ per month?
