I hate eBay!
I won a bunch of domain names on eBay but the seller refused to actually transfer them to me. I reported it to eBay but they said that there is nothing they can do. That it's up to the both parties to actually make sure to complete the transaction.
Then I submit a negative feedback to the seller and of course get one back. I report that again and even though I sent all the communication to eBay that proves that the negative comments are false - they refuse to deal with that either. Is it just me or anybody else had a bad brush with eBay? |

ebay is sort of like the classified ads. If you bought a car out of the paper, and the seller screwed you over, you wouldn't get pissed at the paper would you?
that being said, ebay is, in some ways, more than a venue. I have been selling on ebay on and off for years and have run into just about every issue imaginable so I may be able to help you figure out how to get your money back. How did you pay?

I thought this was gonna be about a bad deal with an expensive watch.
Sorry to hear about that though, that really sucks. Is there something you can do about it with paypal?

I agree, they need a better feedback system. You can sabotage someone pretty easily...

Don't symphathize with me. Tell me if this is normal or not normal for eBay not to care if the sales on their site go through.

What do you mean? the guy gave me the money back but I didn't want the money because I won it for a few bucks and the domain is worth way more.

Well, the bottom line is that eBay has no way of forcing someone to sell something on their own. You could technically take legal action against the seller since the auction format is considered a legally binding contract. Ebay, however, will not step in for you in that type of legal situation. All you can do is file a report with them. You can read about their policies and get the complaint form to fill out at this link: http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/...rformance.html

You didn't make that clear in your initial post, it sounded like you paid for the domains and then he didn't transfer them. If no money was exchanged then I don't see the big deal.

At least you got your money back rather than losing that to. I agree with you though, if they didn't want to sell the domains for less than they expected, then they should've put a reserve on them.
