Jimmy's on a roll tonight! There's a couple of ways, get Vegas Video 3.0 from Sonic Foundry. It makes it easier than any other utility I've used. You can also do it with the stuff you have but there's an accelleration setting you have to shut down on Windows Media in order to capture video stills through Print Screen or whatever you are using.

I had the same problem. All I do is get the movie to the part I want the shot of, click the "show desktop" icon in the quick start menu to minimize all windows, then open the movie player again, and it worked fine.

www.hypersnap.com download the version 3, and get a free week trial... its worth the purchase if you do alot of video stuff. Go to enable special effects under capture settings, check both directx check marks... go to the clip... press print screen on your keyboard, go back to hypersnap and its right there, save it as a bmp or jpg. That help? =)

Jimmy - I prefer 35mm (better quality) than run 24 hour photo development service... then scanning... etc...

 | if you have quicktime pro, you can export out frames from pretty much all video types. 30 bucks or so.

download virtualdub open the mpeg with it and hit a screenshot like before with print screen. paste the image to paint or photoshop and you have the best possible screenshop available :-) Snag it and hupersnap can capture it too, but the result will be of lower quality compared to my way. With few words my way rules. Bottom line I rule. Im the best. I'm the king.

Magic Media ++, you can get it from download.com - I have been happy with the results I get from the program - plus you can select which frame you want to export from the movie - as well batch a whole folder of files !

*tsk*Tsk* All you need to do is to turn "Overlay" off in your WMP. Then you can take all the screenshots you like with Ctrl+PrintScreen
