If we as a company accept a stolen credit card to pay for services, we have to eat it and refund it all to the card holders account. That simple.

Yes have had similar on paypal also taking back because the person used a stolen card with them.

My question has always been the same, we pay if we accept a stolen card, can't say it happens a lot due to fruad protection and phone calls to confirm things but it can and does happen to anyone in business, so what makes paypal or epass any different. They are the ones that accepted the card.

Here's why this is the wrong way to view this: In this case no one has bought a car, they have simply done business with this pimpin_j idiot using epass in good faith like anyone else. Sorry, but Paypal does NOT follow the same policy. I do a lot of business on eBay, and I have had someone pay me via an instant transfer that bounced, and also using a stolen credit card. In both cases Paypal asked me for more info regarding the transaction, mainly to make sure I shipped the item. Once I provided them that info they released the funds to me and went after the scammer. Don't get me wrong, Paypal is a flaming pile of monkey shit, but they are still a million times better than that fucking bush league operation Epass.

You're way off the mark on that one. As an ePassporte merchant you can get hit with chargebacks. And the disturbing thing is you can get hit with chargebacks that are over a year old. We just got handed chargebacks on Monday from sales done in May 2006. This doesn't seem the least bit reasonable to me.

As a p2p transfer you can't get hit with a 'chargeback' but you sure can get shafted by them clawing back funds. And how deep does that go? If someone pays me $1000 and I then use $999 of it to pay someone else, then refuse to give it back like this guy did, do they go after the person I paid next and tell him he has to give the funds back?

I do a lot of business on eBay, and I have had someone pay me via an instant transfer that bounced, and also using a stolen credit card. In both cases Paypal asked me for more info regarding the transaction, mainly to make sure I shipped the item. Once I provided them that info they released the funds to me and went after the scammer.
