Better to try and advertise your extras on a tour...

Not necessarily true.

She may be seeing a 1:100 ratio to her site, but what if she only get's 2000 hits a day? It's good, but if someone like that were to purchase another 2k a day of high quality traffic they'd make tons more.

Or throw a lot of time into self-promoting. Sometimes paying for it and watching the extra signups roll in is the way to go though. Depends on how busy she is I suppose.
