its a means to predict how something will react, in the case of programming, it has to do with the present, future and past states (all independent). Given independent states at time n, the probability that the program will move to state x at time n+1.

Basically, predicting what states a program will move to in the future given the past, present and future possible states. Mostly used in forecasting runtimes and other crazy shit.

I apparently went to university for 5 years to say that and will never ever use it. LOL

Probablility that a program will move? So, do you mean like if TCG will move their program from Ft. Lauderdale to Ontario?

How can you predict that? Wouldn't you have to call Laura Lee or something?

We built Markov Chains into the new version of Autoblogger Pro Stand Alone, and have it enabled as a "beta" function for select users.

From a blackhat SEO perspective, you can think of Markov Chains as a statistical method that analyzes the relationship between adjacent words in a document.

For example, with markov chains, a SE can deduct that a page which contains only nouns, probably is a spam page. Using the markov chains, once you see a noun, you know that within a few additional words there must be a verb based on the probability model of the English language. Alas, the birth of keyword density and the reason stuffing keywords is no longer useful.

If I write a spam page using markov chains, a SE can?t ban my pages through an automated prorgam, although an editor could clearly see it was spam.

PS: As an SEO its good to figure out how to stop SE spam in order to figure out how to circumvent it

Definitely.

I always thought Markov paragraphs could be spotted at times by bots.

It's gibberish. At the very most you have 1 day before someone reports you if you make the first page for any term using that... right?

I'm not sure to be honest, I haven't done keyword stuffing in nearly 10 years.

WG always to give the professional input

Using the Markov Chain isn't very productive seo these days as WG said. But it still is a tool used to count words, re-order those words on math, and assist you with creating different text with groups of related paragraphs and keywords. These days you need other tools to help complete the logic, including human interaction to be fully seo effective.

Part of the possible advantages to translations.

Bots can spot it due to error - but if the logic is correct it's very hard. Even humans can be fooled.

Using anything like this is blackhat, and could get you reported. You should always mask what you are doing through bot detection, redirects, ect.

I've integrated myself into the Google Matrix. I think of a keyword and insert myself directly into the results. Shabang!

Wow, WG... I knew you must be doing something right to make $20 million a year but I didn't think it was that easy.

Think, keyword... boom.

Damn, that's hot.

I dunno. IMHO, I think the easily spotted markov generated content is due to not having a large enough lexicon to build the content from. If you generate a huge lexicon and use markov chaining to generate content from it, you would be surprised by how 'real' the generated content looks.
