Old rock lovers
I got a question to anyone who knows old/classic rock.. theres a song I heard a longggg time ago, it always stayed in my head, but I have no clue who sings it or the name of the song, it sounds somethign like led zepplin..
it starts off with a weird harmonica like solo while the guy is singing something about someone leaving him.. like I said, its a long time I haven't heard this song.. anyone have any ideas? Thanks Shaun

Need MORE of the lyrics!
to lock it in better. But Neil Young is known for his use of the harmonica... |

btw, another great song is When a Blind Man Cries from Deep Purple
If you're leaving close the door. I'm not expecting people anymore. Hear me grieving, I'm lying on the floor. Whether I'm drunk or dead I really ain't too sure. |

Also.. when I mean old rock.. i mean like 60's and 70's...
Ummm... well that timeframe fits me well. And I have always liked that period of music as well. Maybe because I grew up with that. Find a site that has clips of Neil Young, he did alot of the sadder sounding songs. And that harmonica thing fits too... But I'm not sure about the Led Zep sound to him. I don't feel like hauling out the vinyl to go thru them and the old man won't turn my stereo back around so I can get the to the turntable right now. |

Well, Niel Young is definitely 60s and 70s ... could be him ... I could probably help you if you could come up with more lyrics. Music is about the ONLY thing I remember from back then ...

Was the singer mumbling? Then it would be Bob Dylan since he used the harmonica too & most of his songs were depressing too.
It could be Deep Purple since a few of their songs had harmonica solos. The Guess Who had the harmonica too, I believe. Without a little bit of the lyrics, it would be hard to find out the band or the name of the song. |

Well, my firt thought was "Heart of Gold", but...
How do you even know the original had harmonica in it if the comedians band did it? Maybe it was changed. Anyway, my second vote would be for something by The Guess Who, like "No Sugar Tonight" or "Crying" but I can't remember if they have harmonica at the very beginning. Or, even "American Woman" but in that case he is telling her to go away, not crying about her being gone. SpaceAce |
