Are we victims of discrimination?
Let's say you're up for a job at any old company. You're way qualified for the position, it's an absolute shoe-in.
The interviews go great, you have an excellent rapport, everything checks out and then suddenly it comes up/comes out that you've been working in adult and they don't hire you. Is this discrimination in the eyes of the law? Got a case of the what if's today.

Nope. It may be, but no body has to explain why they don't hire you.
My company. My choice. After all of the resume stuff, it basically comes down to if they like you or not, or feel that you would be a good fit. |

I would personally feel it was discrimination, however I doubt it would ever hold up. It's not a legally protected "class".

Good question.
You can, of course, sue for anything, but I'm not 100% sure that you'd really have a legal basis to sue for discrimination because the discrimination doesn't involve such sensitive issues as your race, religion, etc... Maybe I'm wrong (I'm not a lawyer), and maybe I'm not... but I do know that there are a hell of a lot of areas in life where it's blatantly legal to discriminate against homosexuals... and I'd imagine if you can still legally discriminate against someone's unchosen sexuality, you can legally discriminate against them for their chosen career path. But hell... that'd make too much sense - and since when did the law make sense? ![]()

Working in the adult industry is a choice. It can not be classified as discrimination. That only works on things that cannot be changed, like gender, race, sexuality, ect. I am sure there is something that you can sue them over (no clue what that is), but I doubt it would win in court. Your work history does have an effect on getting a job.

in france "the country of love" (according to the french themselves) this very "tolerant country", well of course there is discremination, here there is no such thing as free speech.
