I only went full time in this business in late 2002, part-time in late 2000. I valued my degree more at the time so I focused on finishing school. In some ways I regret it but I was really close to finishing my degree, I didn't want to lose the first 2.5 years down the drain...

The profit margins back then were really obscene, but it was a new industry and very unregulated so it was like the wild west. Now that things have calmed down, margins are shrinking and its harder to make a buck. I think we all wished we did more during the boom but what's important is where we go from here

I got in at early/mid 2002 full time. It seems like it was eaiser to make a buck back then. Deluxe Pass was my first sponsor that took off. It wasnt long before i was doing 20k a month sending about 2k hits a day to my archive. I knew it wouldnt last forever so I didnt go silly with that money and just took what i needed, saved ALOT of it and reinvested the rest back into Duke Dollars. Then for reasons I can only specualte, Deluxe Pass litterally stopped. We're talking 1500 members down to 300 in a 3 month period. Glad i saved my money and reinvested it

I'd say dumb is someone who doesn't realize his mistakes and the learns from them.

I've been around for quite some time myself and while I sometimes wish I would've concentrated on this more at an earlier stage of my involvement in this industry, I do not regret the choices I made and the things I concentrated on instead. Over the years I've done a lot of research and testing on a lot of things in this biz and I am truly thankful that I was patient enough not to rush in head-first, as that could've made for some major damage. Now I know a lot about pretty much every aspect of this biz and I can, without much fear or effort, set up a successful operation regardless of what I choose to focus on. I've had (and still have) success in certain areas and it's only natural for me to start diversifying.

Saturation is one issue today. And it is one issue that contributed too the slimming of margins, not too mention reckless behavior. It is funny to see people complain about Processing fees. I bet some of you wish you could go back in time and make Processing accounts 25k to start.

I made a huge mistake of getting out the industry around late 2000 after i made some decent money. The reason being that I was underage, and didn't know better.

Then in April of 2004 I stumbled upon GFY, tried some adult projects that didn't take off, and now kicking ass in mainstream. 2005 is a GOOD year.

Funny thing is, me doing good in mainstream is all because of people I've met on GFY.

... but I still regret getting out in late 2000

Istead, they choose to pander to the thousands of noobs who join the industry on an almost monthly basis whilst not realizing that it is these same people who are saturating the markets and cutting everyones slice of the pie thinner

As i say, getting back to the days of '97-'03 would be REAL easy to do unfortunately, the state of the industry today means its not gonna happen anytime soon

Funny thing is, I played around in porn back in the stone age, before anyone even knew what the Internet was, it was maybe 1990 or something and I posted mac porn movies on compuserve with ads to buy a few floppy disk quicktimes for $20.

I must have made maybe 15K in one month. Got bored as piss though just duplicating floppy disks all day and lost intrerest, porn always took a back seat with me to my "real" business.

Got back in in 2003, did well but not the kind of numbers I know would have been easy 2 years earlier. Anybody thinks all the money in porn is over though hasn't looked at the way things work - more than likely the biggest porn operations 10 years from now don't exist today, think about it.

i never made tons of cash but my main downfall was letting myself ride on my success. after going from 0 to 10k/month within 2 months of doing it i thought it would last forever and ended up spending 1999-2002 having fun and not working much at all which i do regret but there is still lots of money left in this biz, you just have to work for it now.

I've been around since mid '98. Got my start with AVS sites. I make way more now but the money was waaaaaaaaay easier then.

Back then I was a college kid working part time making less than $1K monthly. Almost overnight I was at $10K monthly and haven't looked back.

I remember the Adult Check link list used to send great traffic and instant sales.

To get this in perspective... if you do free sites now you need to mirror your site dozens of times, get it listed on dozens of link lists and do that daily for like a year before u would see a good return. (just guestimating here since I don't do this anymore)

Back then building 10 simple ass Adult Check sites would get you an easy $5K-$20K a month. (simple sites with 30 pics and a bunch of upsell banners)

I'm talking back in 98. Every year it's gotten harder and harder. I think 96-98 was the true golden era when people made fuck you money super easily without blinking an eye. I'm talking the mega millions with 1/20th of todays work.

I think the best is still yet to come. Things have changed and what once worked no longer does and new things are sure to come. If your new you cna still become very rich if you innovate and come up with something new no one else has ever done. but a lot of things have to come together just prfect for it to happen so it has alot to do with LUCK !

Someone stole my credit card number and racked up a ton of charges to XPics. I went to see what it was and a few weeks later, I became a webmaster. I make way more now but the money was waaaaaaaaay easier then. Back then I was a college kid working part time making less than $1K monthly. Almost overnight I was at $10K monthly and haven't looked back. I remember the Adult Check link list used to send great traffic and instant sales. To get this in perspective... if you do free sites now you need to mirror your site dozens of times, get it listed on dozens of link lists and do that daily for like a year before u would see a good return. (just guestimating here since I don't do this anymore) Back then building 10 simple ass Adult Check sites would get you an easy $5K-$20K a month. (simple sites with 30 pics and a bunch of upsell banners) I'm talking back in 98. Every year it's gotten harder and harder. I think 96-98 was the true golden era when people made fuck you money super easily without blinking an eye. I'm talking the mega millions with 1/20th of todays work. I think the best is still yet to come. Things have changed and what once worked no longer does and new things are sure to come. If your new you cna still become very rich if you innovate and come up with something new no one else has ever done. but a lot of things have to come together just prfect for it to happen so it has alot to do with LUCK !
