History lesson from my son

I asked my 10 year old son if he knew who the Beatles were..

He said, "Yeah, weren't they just a cheap knockoff of the Monkees?"

Haha... that's great.

I have to admit, that, at his age, I dug the Monkees more than the Beatles - but that's because the Beatles didn't have a corney T.V. show to appeal to my sophomoric sense of humor.

Sounds like he's old enough to learn the truth - the Beatles and the Monkees were both knockoffs of Los Shakers...

I'm impressed that at his age he even knows the Monkees and maybe more surprised they still have re-runs on TV

I still remember my 16-yr-old daughter saying, "You mean Paul McCartney had a band before Wings?!"

I was watching the new Planet Earth documentary (highly recommended) last night with my son when we got into an argument over whether an insect in an animal. I should have known the answer but I was wrong - an insect *is* an animal - and the little conceited 7 year pompous son of a gun proceeded to rub it in all night. Little turd.
