Ok... Some flaws in a lot of these suggestions...
1. System of a Down has broken up.
2. Limp Bizkit is down for the count.
3. Guns N' Roses is FAR from cheap. They sold out 2 Vegas shows at $175 a pop, and Axl won't leave his chamber for less than probably around 200-500k.

Some of the good suggestions:
Social D
NOFX
Pennywise

...that's about all you'll be able to afford.

D$... Think about my suggestion about Mickey Avalon. He'll relate to rock fans as well as rap fans on a much broader scale. Plus his material is MEANT for the porn industry.

Some other (AFFORDABLE) suggestions:
The Rapture: I saw these guys play the other night at a private party and they SLAYED it.
Videos:
Get Myself Into It : https://youtube.com/watch?v=AaI6hxbifOU
Final 1:28 of The Devil : https://youtube.com/watch?v=JfP4VZqTdhU

Lilly Allen
Trapt
Shiney Toy Guns
Yellowcard
Rise Against
Plain White T's
Peaches
CKY
Kings Of Leon
Dropkick Murphys
Muse
AFI
Bad Religion
Pepper
Flogging Molly
Deftones
Static X
Arctic Monkeys
The STrokes
Tenacious D
Plus 44

Get in touch with me D... I may have a way to get in touch with a few of these bands if you are interested in any. More suggestions? I'm full of em'. :)

dynastoned 05-09-2007 08:06 PM

GooSearch 05-09-2007 08:06 PM

lovin ur picks!! :thumbsup

badmunchkin 05-09-2007 09:13 PM

hmmm, some of those bands I don't think would do the Player's Ball regardless of budget - honestly I don't think you're gonna ever get Tool or NIN - as much as I love 'em - they take themselves pretty damn seriously & probably wouldn't do this event :2 cents:

you could obviously get a Kid Rock or Limp Bizkit - those guys don't give a shit - Korn might do it - is Kiss still together, heh? Gene Simmons is a total sleaze so I know he'd be down... that's what comes to mind - it's not just the budget but who'd even be willing to play an event like this - rappers don't give a shit - rockers are more concerned with their "cred"

JenniDahling 05-09-2007 09:18 PM

Staind put on a great small show at the Whiskey Beach at Green Valley Ranch which isn't a very large venue and sounded awesome. I think they'd put on a great show.

Otherwise, I say definitely Loverboy... they may not have cowbell but I wanna see if Mike Reno still wears those red leather pants with matching headband.

XPays 05-09-2007 09:22 PM

Greyboy AllStars

or Steve Miller Band

Doctor Dre 05-09-2007 11:32 PM

Korn, Metallica, Limp Bizkit and System of a down would be crazy...

Rage just put up a concert together, wonder if you could book them too.

Moose 05-09-2007 11:40 PM

Skynyrd!

V_RocKs 05-09-2007 11:47 PM

V_RocKs 05-09-2007 11:59 PM

The rythme is the base and the base is the treble

Ragging Rhino 05-10-2007 12:02 AM

AC/DC would put on a mind blowing concert.

SleazyDream 05-10-2007 12:02 AM

why not list a few options in the budget range?

tical 05-10-2007 12:13 AM

velvet revolver would kick ass for sure

the bloodhound gang would fit in too & probably wouldn't cost too much... would be great for an opening act

tical 05-10-2007 12:14 AM

fly in chasey lain to be onstage for that one too

Martina Warren 05-10-2007 12:15 AM

Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, or System of a Down

Martina Warren 05-10-2007 12:16 AM

Oh and Staind

V_RocKs 05-10-2007 03:03 AM

A rock band with a mixing table would be nice...

But I really like the idea of a yacht rock band because you can easily theme the event around it.

ServerGenius 05-10-2007 03:19 AM

HipHop: Deliquent Habits
Rock: Good Old Van Halen, or even just for the kicks Ozzy :-p
A bit of Both: Jay-Z & Linkin Park

As a token of appreciating for my suggestions....get me Shakira for my hotel room

Did you mean "posters" or "posers" there are some pretty limp wristed suggestions flowing in this thread.

LAJ 05-10-2007 06:58 AM

i have a really hard time picturing AC/DC playing anyinthing less then a sold out 10,000+ seat arena. but it'd be cool as hell :winkwink:

I added a couple more.

Motley Crue would cost an arm and a leg, could probably do a Vince Neil show for a lot less though :2 cents:

Brad 05-10-2007 09:15 AM

I just thought of a few more for the list:

Alexisonfire
Clutch
Incubus
Mad Caddies
Goldfinger
Mars Volta
Queens of the Stone Age

This list could go on for a while. Please do not get Nickleback or Velvet Revolver.

Brad 05-10-2007 09:22 AM

Actually, screw it...just get the Roots. They put on a great show and they can play basically everything. I saw them last month and they were doing Led Zep and Bob Dylan covers. Plus they are entertaining as hell.

lesbodojo 05-10-2007 09:53 AM

Are you just looking at typical rock bands? If you're open to indie/electro bands... Black Moustache or CSS or Goldfrapp would be fun. I could email you a list of bands I have contacts for.

The answer is, I'm interested in everything.

One of the pleasures of creating events for webmasters is hipping them to artists they didn't know from or barely knew from. I've had lot's of people tell me they turned into fans of some of these Players Ball artists and bought many of their CD's after the show.

So hip me to to it!
