The dude on American Idol

D-Money 05-09-2007 02:22 PM

By the way, I'm making a list of all artists mentioned in this thread so I can get pricing on all options.

I'm going to guess that 95% of the options thrown so far are too expensive.

And Sykkboy, I'd have to line the entire venue in plastic garbage bags for GWAR, I've worked with them a bunch of times.

I do agree, it would be an experience every webmaster would remember, and probably even enjoy.

Shit gets bloody.

punker barbie 05-09-2007 02:24 PM

NIN or Korn would rock....Id also like to see mickey avalon.

I'm looking into another reality show star, I'm looking into New York (From I Love New York on VH-1)

But she'd have to be hella cheap and then she'd have to blow Juicy.

I'm keeping it as a surprise for now, I have a few offers on the table, waiting to see how if they would really do it at the price I'm willing to pay.

But, in the meanwhile, I'm looking into the rock options too.

I definitely want to add some new elements to the Ball this summer. Time for a slight change.

Poppy 05-09-2007 02:38 PM

Kid Rock would be kewl.

I have seen RHCP in concert . . . they sucked.

Man I'm telling you, The Bloodhound Gang is the only kinda rock band that would fit the Player's Ball style of a show. Other than someone like Kid Rock maybe.

The Ballad Of Chasey Lain
F.U.C.K

Hell I'd even try and coax you out of a ticket if you brought in the Bloodhound Gang :winkwink:

Rexk 05-09-2007 03:46 PM

"The Dream Police they inside of my Head"

I was half joking with GWAR, but they would be fun...and you could offset the plastic costs by having someone sponsor imprinted ponchos/rainslickers and maybe even the plastic coverings themselves....and of course having someone sponsor the cleanup towels too ;-)

I've been trying to get them for years. They'd be awesome, but they've been wanting $50k to $100k for a while now, I'll ask and see if they went down in price.

:2 cents:

Just spoke to someone on their label, would probably be between 50k & 80k and closer to 80k really.

Keep them coming.

I'll post some of their prices incase you guys are interested.

I always get a kick out of who's more expensive then who.

That's where I feel I always make the right call, I get the most bang for the buck.

The Tragically Hip!

netpimp 05-09-2007 05:20 PM

Here's some alternative ones, probably way cheap, not the real band, but do a damn fine job. (perhaps some good small party alternatives)

The Atomic Punks, tribute to DLR era Van Halen (Ralph does DLR better than DLR nowadays -- atomicpunks dot com) I believe they have media samples as well.. located in so. cal.

Which One's Pink? (whichonespink dot com) - Pink Floyd tribute - check their youtube page off their site. Listening to them, could swear it was PF. - also so. cal.

Metal Skool is always good too, though more rock and comedy, still a good time.. (lead singer of atomic punks is lead for this one as well. their guitarist used to play in a.p.) so. cal.

If an official band. I'd go with Gwar. My only regret about them is not going to their shows sooner. Bring a change of clothes and a towel.

Yes but sadly didnt make the list. They were a total hit at the Google Dance and whats nice is they cover such a broad musical range including rock.

WonderWoman 05-09-2007 06:52 PM

One other that I have seen that is pretty funny and interesting is The Dan Band. Theyve been in The Wedding Singer, Old School, and Starsky & Hutch. Saw them at an Ask Jeeves party, I remember hearing they were a bit expensive but cant name the price off the top of my head. Theyre more music and comedy mixed.
