What do you do to keep oragnized?

What do you do to stay organized? Do you use software, electronic reminders, a treo?

I've been looking into ways of improving organization and wondering what everyone else does to stay organized.

Depends. When I was working in sales years ago I found Outlook to be a valuable asset. It was great for keeping files on clients, easy to set reminders and meeting times, set reminders for 10 minutes or 2 days in advance of anything important, can drag and drop emails of a particular client right into the "notes" section of his/her folder, etc. I loved it. Someone would call me and I'd pull up their file in Outlook and bam... it's all there, my notes on previous phone calls, emails, everything.

These days I just use little tricks with Outlook Express. Created categorized folders and just drag and drop the emails I need to save into those folders. I often copy the contents of certain emails and paste it into an actual document file and save it to disk as a backup.

I guess my deal is more marketing now rather than sales. It's nice not having to track 100's of clients and keeping records of every detail of my dealings with each. But Outlook made that a lot more sane than if I tried it the old way with a pen and a notepad. :D

I use my Treo calendar function, while on the call you can check your schedule and block off time.

That and yellow legal pads....write everything down....helps me sleep at night.

I have been using the same spike for the past 30-odd years. Every routine task, every one-off job, everything on which I need to follow up, every idea gets noted and dated on its own memo slip and stuck on the spike. Each morning and again after lunch, I go through everything on the spike and decide what I am going to do for the next few hours.

I have used different electronic and software organizers, up to and including MS Project. But nothing else is as quick, easy or sure. My only lasting concession to the digital age is that for the past 10 years I have been using a PC version of 3M's PostIt notes for reminders of recurring tasks.
