ROUND 1
De La Hoya dictates the tempo in Round 1, but Mayweather connects on the cleaner shots. SI CARD: 10-9 Mayweather

ROUND 2
Big second round for De La Hoya. I don't know what the strategy is in Mayweather's corner, but allowing Floyd to be pushed against the ropes shouldn't be it. Mayweather looks a little tight. SI CARD: 10-9 De La Hoya

ROUND 3
Oscar seemingly can control the tempo of this fight. De La Hoya was excellent with the jab and landed a couple of potent power punched. SI CARD: 10-9 De La Hoya

ROUND 4
Tremendous defense by De La Hoya. Floyd's jabs are getting nowhere near Oscar's head and De La Hoya's counterpunches are finding their mark. Right now, De La Hoya is the more active fighter. SI CARD: 10-9 De La Hoya

Brief exchange at the bell, but Mayweather's are the sharper, more accurate, heavier punches. Right now, Mayweather is timing De La Hoya beautifully with a straight left followed by an overhand right and Oscar doesn't appear to have an answer.

Oscar tries some big punches with Floyd's back against the ropes, but Floyd twists and turns and nullifies most of them. Stiff jabs from De La Hoya. A pair of overhand rights land to the temple from Mayweather. Left upstairs and right to the body from Floyd. De La Hoya flurries again with Mayweather's back to the ropes. Mayweather was much less busy in that round, but still probably landed the more effective punches.

Mayweather trying to fight small, going into a crouch and looking for a way inside. Left hand from Mayweather misses but a straight right hand at the bell lands right on the chin.

I agree completly. That fight sucked and it almost looked like they faked most of it so it would go the distance and still seem like a close fight. It seemed like every announcer and athlete talking at the BOXING event was talking about MMA. LOL. Boxing is doomed. I am still laughing about mayweather interview before the fight where he said that MMA fighters couldnt cut it in Boxing so they tattoo their heads, pierce their ears and run to UFC. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Atleast Delahoya had the brains to admit MMA was doing things right. All I got to say is they can keep the sound effect punches from the contender reality show and give me the real thumping of hands in The Ultimate Fighter show.

I always find the scorecards of boxing funny. Why bother with 10-9? Why not make it 1000-900 or whatever. Unless specific points are taken off for a foul, the score is rarely anything other than 10-9, even if one guy is beating the living snot out of the other guy.

Why not just 1-0?
