				The Fight ""Un-Official"" ScoreCard.....
ROUND 1 De La Hoya dictates the tempo in Round 1, but Mayweather connects on the cleaner shots. SI CARD: 10-9 Mayweather ROUND 2 Big second round for De La Hoya. I don't know what the strategy is in Mayweather's corner, but allowing Floyd to be pushed against the ropes shouldn't be it. Mayweather looks a little tight. SI CARD: 10-9 De La Hoya ROUND 3 Oscar seemingly can control the tempo of this fight. De La Hoya was excellent with the jab and landed a couple of potent power punched. SI CARD: 10-9 De La Hoya ROUND 4 Tremendous defense by De La Hoya. Floyd's jabs are getting nowhere near Oscar's head and De La Hoya's counterpunches are finding their mark. Right now, De La Hoya is the more active fighter. SI CARD: 10-9 De La Hoya

				 | ROUND 5 A near-knockdown of De La Hoya by a terrific short right hand by Mayweather has hurt De La Hoya. Another late right nearly sends De La Hoya to the canvas. Big round for Mayweather, De La Hoya may still be hurt. SI CARD: 10-9 Mayweather

				 | ROUND 6 A few flurries by De La Hoya, who still looks stunned from Mayweather's assault last round. But his hands are lower than they were in the first round and Mayweather is picking him apart from the outside. Edge on big shots to Oscar. Round to Mayweather. SI CARD: 10-9 Mayweather

				 | ROUND 7 Oscar needs to throw the jab more. Floyd laughs every time it connects, but De La Hoya's stinging jabs are keeping Mayweather at bay. Eventually, it will lead to a bigger punch. SI CARD: 10-9 De La Hoya

				 | ROUND 8 De La Hoya's jab is clearly the most effective punch of the night. De La Hoya, however, appears to be tiring. His hands are down, and he is throwing the jab with less frequency. A late flurry by De La Hoya isn't enough. SI CARD: 10-9 Mayweather

				 | ROUND 9 Oscar is tired. Mayweather pot-shotted De La Hoya several times and his confidence is rising. Unlike De La Hoya's hands. SI CARD: 10-9 Mayweather

Mayweather lands a right to the chin out of a clinch. De La Hoya flurries with lefts in close. Mayweather circling, sticking out left jabs. Oscar tries to close, but Floyd ties him up. Oscar lands a hook to the head, and flurries against the ropes, but Floyd slips most of them. Left-right-left from De La Hoya. Oscar backs Floyd to the ropes and flurries. De La Hoya tries to bully Mayweather as Floyd clinches. A lot of these punches are glancing off Mayweather's gloves and shoulders, but they are scoring. A much better round for De La Hoya. Dan Rafael scores it: De La Hoya, 10-9 Kieran Mulvaney scores it: De La Hoya, 10-9 Round 3 De La Hoya attacking with hooks. Jabs snap back Mayweather's head. Oscar backs Floyd into corner and unloads. Mayweather circles, pops out jabs. Overhand right from Mayweather, and another. De La Hoya throws combination in corner, but Mayweather slips many of them. De La Hoya's round, but later momentum of the round may be shifting back to Floyd, who seems to be timing Oscar again. Dan Rafael scores it: Mayweather, 10-9 Kieran Mulvaney scores it: De La Hoya, 10-9 Round 4 Lead left hook lands flush from Oscar, and more lefts cause Floyd to go backward. Strong overhand rights from Floyd. Oscar lands repeated punches to Floyd's body in the corner. Another good overhand right from Floyd. Left-right from Floyd, flurry from Oscar, straight right from Floyd. Left-right combination from Floyd. Left-right from Floyd. Dan Rafael scores it: Mayweather, 10-9 Kieran Mulvaney scores it: Mayweather, 10-9 Round 6 Short uppercut through the guard from Mayweather. De La Hoya flurries against the ropes, but everything bounces off Floyd's arms and gloves. Double left hook from Floyd. Sweeping right hand just misses from Floyd. De La Hoya lands a short right inside and Mayweather immediately retaliates. Brief exchange at the bell, but Mayweather's are the sharper, more accurate, heavier punches. Right now, Mayweather is timing De La Hoya beautifully with a straight left followed by an overhand right and Oscar doesn't appear to have an answer. Dan Rafael scores it: Mayweather, 10-9 Kieran Mulvaney scores it: Mayweather, 10-9 Round 7 Oscar tries some big punches with Floyd's back against the ropes, but Floyd twists and turns and nullifies most of them. Stiff jabs from De La Hoya. A pair of overhand rights land to the temple from Mayweather. Left upstairs and right to the body from Floyd. De La Hoya flurries again with Mayweather's back to the ropes. Mayweather was much less busy in that round, but still probably landed the more effective punches. Dan Rafael scores it: De La Hoya, 10-9 Kieran Mulvaney scores it: Mayweather, 10-9 Round 8 Left-right-left lands from De La Hoya, followed by another stiff left. Mayweather misses with a sweeping right, lands a short left inside and then a short right. Short lead left hook from Mayweather. Short right from Floyd. | ROUND 10 Oscar has stopped throwing punches and Floyd continues to pick up steam. A late, straight right hand punctuates the round. You have to wonder what Oscar has left in the tank. SI CARD: 10-9 Mayweather

				 | ROUND 11 Mayweather's right hands are starting to hurt ME. Oscar continues to try to line up that big shot but refuses to set it up with the jab. Mayweather Sr. has a stoic look on his face. He may be witnessing the end of his prized pupil. SI CARD: 10-9 Mayweather

				 | ROUND 12 Floyd Mayweather simply cannot be KO'd. He is just too fast. A courageous round by De La Hoya. Floyd may regret mailing in this one. SI CARD: 10-9 De La Hoya

				 | Boxing is dead. that was the most boring boxing match I've ever watched. Couple that with Lampley's lame ass shot towards Mixed Martial Arts, and you know they are all threatened by it. RIP Boxing.

				 | I agree completly. That fight sucked and it almost looked like they faked most of it so it would go the distance and still seem like a close fight. It seemed like every announcer and athlete talking at the BOXING event was talking about MMA. LOL. Boxing is doomed. I am still laughing about mayweather interview before the fight where he said that MMA fighters couldnt cut it in Boxing so they tattoo their heads, pierce their ears and run to UFC. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Atleast Delahoya had the brains to admit MMA was doing things right. All I got to say is they can keep the sound effect punches from the contender reality show and give me the real thumping of hands in The Ultimate Fighter show.

				 | I always find the scorecards of boxing funny. Why bother with 10-9? Why not make it 1000-900 or whatever. Unless specific points are taken off for a foul, the score is rarely anything other than 10-9, even if one guy is beating the living snot out of the other guy. Why not just 1-0? |
