you can do that with feedwordpress
just set it to hold the posts as drafts, then you can go in and go through them all |

Jace, I hadn't thought of that, but it's clever, and I may try it.
I have a Wordpress interface question about it, though. In, say, the Write: Write Posts or Manage: Posts view in my Wordpress, my drafts are visible only in a comma-separated list of post titles, at the top. There's no easy way to skimread those drafts and select a few of them while deleting the rest, you seem to have to click each title and view it that way. From there, it's a one-click operation to publish a draft, but deleting the draft seems to require more operations (usually publish and then delete). That doesn't offer the functionality I need, quite; I need a way to skim several hundred feed items a day, ideally in just a few minutes, while selecting perhaps a dozen for publication. Is there some better way you know of to review wordpress draft posts, other than individually? I do appreciate the idea, though, because it gives me another search angle; I'm off to see if there are any wordpress plugins for better managing large volumes of draft posts. |

I'm using my own scripts to automatically edit (modify) the imported feeds to make my blogs google-friendly

Update on Jace's suggestion. I found a plugin called DraftControl to let me review large numbers of drafts more easily, but it only shows titles in a list, so not ideal for mass review-and-selection.
Brujah, I've been playing with Refeed for months, but I can't seem to get it working quite right for my purposes. Specifically, no matter what I do it only publishes an excerpt, a rather short one, from my feeds. I've had no luck at all getting it to republish the complete text of specific items. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong. But yes, Refeed is the closest thing I've found. I was hoping there'd be something better out there I had failed to google. Thanks everyone for the suggestions! Any more? |

Forkbeard, I'll take a look at mine again. It's been a little while so I'll need to familiarize myself with it. The RSS output from Refeed only exports an excerpt you mean? Or is it only importing an excerpt even if the original RSS is complete?

Brujah, I'm an idiot. Thanks for your questions; trying to answer them helped me resolve a mistaken belief that's been deviling me for months. No need for you to look into this further, I have sea room to experiment further now.
What happened was, I was using some feeds that I thought were complete, but which (upon examination) turn out to have been excerpt-only. My result (excerpts showing in Refeed) follows naturally. As soon as I typed in some known full feeds (my own) it began working the way I had always hoped it would. Thanks again. |
