Still nothing

Apparently my 1300% increase in sales this year with Ibill isn't enough to warrant being treated fairly.

The ironic part is, they came to my office this spring to ask me for *any* part of my business. I was willing to start new with them, even after two years of bullshit. It looks like I put my trust in the wrong company.

It makes me wonder how they treat webmasters that don't make them a lot of money.

why some people thinks: it's for DVD when they see the thread has too many replies...

gothweb 09-01-2002 05:06 PM

Has iBill declared bankruptcy? If not, they have to pay any debts that they are contractually bound to pay. I don't see where the question is. Why do people think the law doesn't apply to the adult industry? We're not a world unto ourselves, here.

Lightspeed-- I am sure a lawyer can help you out here. The law is pretty straightforward in this area, isn't it? Why bring it here. Take it to court.

uh, maybe because it affects thousands of companies that process thru ibill. web900 is a very small part of most peoples business - not worth suing. this thread is more about ibill's reputation, than it is about lost web900 revenue.

Entirely right, as usual quiet.

The cost of getting an attorney to get the money is probably about the same amount as the money if it went to a drawn out situation.

I am not entirely sure what their execs are thinking right now -- perhaps being bought by Intercept is changing them more than it appears.

Sure would have been nice to see a post or two from someone at ibill by now.

And that's about it, sadly...

While all this has been going on, they've landed me with a lawsuit over alleged trademark infringement - I own web900.co.uk. Apparently, as a result, I've "compromised the goodwill and reputation of iBill and its mark [web900]." Ironic, given that they'd appear to be doing a far better job of that themselves.

RogerV 09-02-2002 01:59 AM

they are great about spamming me to process with them all the time.
What I don't under stand is why nobody has posted from IBill yet.

Not only will they not post, they won't even answer email about this. The first time I asked them the replied that they didn't understand my question, the second time they have just ignored me. Not that?s the kind of professional company I want handling my processing.

Paolo 09-02-2002 07:57 AM

Steve.

I am sure glad they did not visit my office asking for my business.
They tried for over a year to get me to switch after I left.
I am sure glad I held out.

DO NOT USE IBILL IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. THEY BITE!

Use CCBILL. They have better sense and treat all webmasters with respect.

Your post speaks volumes about your maturity, the jury is still out on Ibill though.

So you're saying multi-million dollar companies are too good to come here and talk to us lowly webmasters? (the webmasters that comprise the bulk of what actually generates said millions btw)

This issue like a lot of issues has shown up here due to the lack of response via the more private mediums such as phone, email, or IM. Maybe you were too busy typing up your joke of a post to actually notice the part where LS said he has tried to contact them repeatedly with no success.

Big companies with thousand of webmaster affiliates tend to LOVE webmasters, not look down their shit-stained noses at them. At least the good ones do, the long-term ones. Rule #1 for any company that includes the affiliate-based model into it's gameplan --- "Fuck the webmasters and you fuck yourself."

Ibill does not have a strong board presence and Lord knows poor Cathy gets hammered every time she posts, no matter what she says. I'm sure they are aware of this fact, and if I were Cathy at this point, I don't know that I would post until I had some more information.

Everyone screws up, IBil is obviously no exception -- one would hope that they are meeting amongst themselves trying to decide how to handle these incidents and will have something more to say shohahahay.

And not just in private conversations. Once a subject has been made public, it quite often has to be addressed in public, especially when there are a lot of people potentially standing to lose from the solutions to the problems.

Absolutely right.

However, it would seem to me from reading the few posts that I've seen of hers, that she brings much of it on herself. I don't know if her superiors are tying her hands as to what she can and cannot say on here, but choosing to announce a new supposedly *awesome* new project at the same time that many webmasters are crying out for answers and going unheard is, well frankly a very bad move on their part. Not only does it look unprofessional, but it gives webmasters the impression that their concerns aren't a priority.

Kimmy, I've never once known you to NOT get right in the thick of things and straighten shit out, ever. You set a fairly high standard of customer service while with CCBill, possibly to the point of spoiling us, because we now expect no less from other processors.

I'd be happy if they merely took the time to acknowledge a few of the legitimate concerns here, maybe provide a few answers. Nothing more.

Yeah but you gotta remember CD, I was posting on boards before I worked for CQ or CCBill, and not put into a situation of having to post BECAUSE I worked somewhere.

There's a huge difference there, and Cathy is in a situation where she can't win.

Are you really this completely un-self aware? You continue to call this a "dopey" message board but you have a fair number of posts here and seem concerned enough what the people here think of you to keep replying to this thread.

Also, did you actually read the thread or did you just see an opportunity to jam your foot into your mouth? Did you see the people that claimed to have attempted to handle this issue one-on-one with IBill only to be ignored?

This sort of issue would not make it to the "dopey mesage boards" if it were handled properly in the first place. People come here to look for answers and to share information. If some company is fucking up and costing people money, I want to know about it. That way I can avoid getting stung.

Ibill, in its worst blunder EVER, has decided that the 20% fee they charge is not enough to actually stand behind their payouts, so they have withheld all 900 payments for nearly six weeks from the paysite owners.

Ibill doesn't seem to understand or value the trust that we place in them as a 3rd party processor. If they did, they would realize that the problem with worldcom is THEIR problem. I don't ever remember signing a deal with Worldcom, my agreement was with ibill.

Ibill now refuses to honor our trust and instead of paying the webmasters, they are sticking the loss on the sponsors, like us at Lightspeedcash, even though we have already paid OUR webmasters (so indeed we get fucked TWICE, money out, no money in)

We have paid our webmasters in good faith. I just wish Ibill would show some integrity and do the same while they resolve their issues with Worldcom.

Any opinions on this?

I have posted in the other thread, but just wanted to make a suggestion here. Over the last year i have had an amazing amount of trouble with IBILL, too many things to bore you guys with but i took about 5 hours of my time each week to sort out with our so called major account manager, who now never returns calls or e-mails, she is obviously too important to deal with us?

My suggestion is that we warn all the new webmasters on Ynot and Xbiz all4you, etc etc. Most of the experienced webmasters know the problems with IBILL and are keeping clear but the new guys will get fucked !
Oh and one thing we found our recently was that the new check 2 system dosent work with Netscape. I know a lot of you dont use that in favor of IE but its a possible loss of 5% of your traffic check it out and if AOL drop's IE in favor of Netscape7 that's 35 million users that may never be able to join your site if IBILL dose'nt fix this.:boid :moon :Kissmy
