Is stopbadware.org pissing anybody else off?
I am having an ongoing saga with this company that google is using to police their listings. About two months ago my host was hacked and there was bad code put onto pages. Now, that was taken off almost straight away and there hasn't been any bad code on the sites since.
So, at first I got all the emails you get saying there was bad code found on your site and you need to fill in some form on stopbadware.org to get your site cleared and then have your links 'clickable' again on google rather than having the full page warning page that google puts in place and the 'this site may harm your computer' tag removed. Of course I filled those in and waited and then maybe two weeks later I got emails through to all my domains that were flagged saying they had been reviewed and deemed safe and so my sites would back to the normal google staus. So, I was happy until TWO days later when I once again start getting emails saying my sites have been flagged and need to be reviewed. I go through all my domains and don't see any bad code anywhere (and anyway it is a domain by domain process) and mumble under my breath and resubmit. Again, I wait and they all come back from the review process as clear. Now, today I check my mail and I get emails saying that they are (to use their term) 're-reviewing' sites on their list. Is anybody having this headache? |

Normally sites get cleared out of there pretty fast - and automatically by Google - I would check (or even post some links here so others can check for you) to make positively sure that all of the pages have had the java cleared off of them
Ive seen people think they were clear and found plenty of code still on their pages |

A friend of mine has a site on their list, same story: Someone hacked one of his sites and obviously reported it right after doing so, he never managed to get off the list again although the sites were totally clean before the hack and are totally clean after the malicious code was removed after 3 hours. All requests to be removed from the list were simply ignored.
My impression is that this is a new way some fuckers try to get rid of competition, it did only take a few hours from the hack to the "ban" and after some reasearch it's pretty obvious that quite a few sites ranking high for loads of search terms in google are affected. Instead of getting rid of the parasite .edu/.gov trojan spammers, honest webmasters are fucked and the spammers laugh off their asses. |

I see a lot of people think they clean their sites up, only to have the code reappear again after a while. I don't know if that is your particular problem, but I know of no other reason for your sites to be bouncing like that.
I love the service ![]() |

Every time I have had a mail I go through everything and it is still clear and exactly as it was two days before when they said it was fine.
