The Z06 has only 14k miles (it's a US car.. that's 22,400 Kms) and the price is US$30k. I can get an exchange rate of about 0.86 on the dollar, and it costs 6% GST + $200 to import into canada. Its located in Philly, so add $100 woth of gas for a grand total of about $37,300.

				 | A Corvette Z06 isn't your every day run of the mill Chevy, and infact if anything does go wrong they are incredibly cheap to fix an maintain because of widely available parts, etc. BMWs are notoriously unreliable and parts / labour on them is expensive. Im much more nervous about a 6 year old BMW than I am about the Z06 tbh.

				 | What do you want the car for? The vette will dominate the M3 in all performance aspects. But the M3 will ride nicer and have a nicer interier, and seat more then 2.

				 | I would take the Vette hands down, and getting them from the states makes them cheap even with very low milage. Dont foget to give the boarder 72 hours notice of you crossing otherwise your going to sit in their parking lot for 72 hours. There is also a 100 dollar AC fee, and I think 80 dollar RIV fee. I brought a pair of Camaro's up a couple years ago.

Go for the vette, otherwise you will regret not getting it. I bought a second choice once thinking I would be happy, 3 weeks later I sold it and bought what I wanted in the first place. If you didnt need the hockey bag to fit I would say to look at the Lotus Elise, I have feel in love with them, but I have a second vehicle when I need to carry more then a 1l carton of milk in it, lol. PS, when I was looking at a vette I took my hockey bag and sticks to the dealer to make sure they fit, and they did

				 | I had an '03 ZO6 (50th Anniversary Edition) But it was not my primary ride. Depends on what you want, the Vette is fun as hell to drive but the Beamer is going to be much more comfortable if this is your only ride (daily driver) To me the Vette is not a daily driver, especially the ZO6! |

				 | Both are awesome cars, I have driven both. The Z06 is a monster, the BMW is about as refined a vehicle as you will find. But... as someone mentioned above, maintenance on a bmw can be a money pit. Tough decision. I say M3 though |

So, this would be a car that I put maybe 10 - 12000 miles per year in the good weather months, I will be buying an SUV/truck in november/december for my winter car and the vette will go into hibernation for 3-4 months.

				 | 9 M3 5 Z06 1 Nissan Altima (hahahahahahahahaha) 1 M5 1 Toss-up Ok - now take into consideration that 'ride comfort' and a back seat mean nothing to me. This is about owning a car that I can be proud of and play with.. modify, etc.. Also the outward image I am projecting also means absolutely nothing, and I would argue that both cars have equally as many positive and negative connotations.

				 | If it were me and those were my only two choices, I'd take the M3. Having driven one before I think they drive really well and have great power. I like the look and feel of European cars better than American cars too. But it seems to me like you want the Vette, so you should probably go for it.

				 | 2001 was the first year with the E46. They had a lot of serious engine out problems. I had an 03M3smg for a few years and it was flawless. I'd go with the M3 over the Vette, but absolutely have a qualified BMW dealership do a PPI on it.
