I do have an idea about what Lars might be going through though... when we first hooked with CE back in the day there were tons of people who hated us and would not talk to us because of some brouhaha with CEN that had absolutely nothing to do with us.

For what it is worth, AFF did take everything down as soon as we asked. We are taking action on this. We are going after the roots though and here AFF did the right thing as far as we are concerned.

To anyone getting ripped off though in this same way, talk to an attorney because this is the kind of thing that makes them salivate and think about things like working on contingency...:winkwink:

If it were an isolated incident, or at least a rare incident I would have no problem keeping it out of the public eye, but when you go to pretty much any torrent site out there and see AFF.. Come on, it has to be brought to the public eye. We can't keep turning a blind eye to the dark parts of the industry in hopes it'll just go away.

The problem is a many headed hydra... but chopping off the heads of it only allows another to grow back; if one got aff to stop then another would surely take their place... so the effort must be to go after the heart.

a lot of the sites will remove the content upon request, but then a week later the content is back, different content, but still.

Our biggest issue is with the people taking the copyright notices off our videos... that is just pure evil... which I promise we will smite down with great and furious vengeance.

Pleased to say that AFF dealt with the affillite's account in a very timely manner. Thanks very much to them for their help.

jesus christ guys, stop saying "Lars" every time it is about AFF...Lars WORKS for them and has a 10&#37; share of the company, just cause he is the spokes person on gfy about it all, doesn't mean he has any say whatsoever in what happens in the day to day operations of the company...in fact, I would venture to guess he doesn't have much say at all with only 10% ownership

Yep - I have zero problem with Lars personally. Business is business. Ethics are ethics and and the only similarity really is that both are immutable and how one conducts themselves to either is a matter of choice. I do not have a clue about what choices Lars has made and I am not going to criticize him for something I really know nothing about.

We will see what the FTC does about stuff like zango and Bit Torrent but in the mean time even if I have an ethical issue with software from companies like 180 solutions and stealing with peer to peer I cannot say that anyone else should define their judgement by the same terms until a legal precedent is set and we can all clearly see this is or is not against the law.

I think will76 has made it a crusade against Lars which has only hurt his efforts to draw attention to the very real problem of traffic hijacking and content theives using Bit Torrent.

As I said before, we asked AFF to deal with the problem affiliate and they did so very promptly. I am sure if anyone else here asked the same of them then I assume they would be treated equally.
