Fact is you are very outnumbered, 55% of the world believe Jesus existed historically without a doubt(all Muslims and Christians) and 80% of Americans believe Jesus existed without a doubt. Lol so let me get this straight you want a NON-religious text to mention a simple mad carpenter who was crucified at the request of his own people because of that persons religious practices? The Romans WOULDNT document that, they were simply giving the Jews what the Jews wanted so the Jews would shut the fuck up about Jesus. Jesus was nothing more than a madman in their eyes. You make no sense, Jesus didnt have much fame with non-Jews till right before his death and even then it was extremely localized. Your argument that they should document his life/death is weak. |

Jesus supposedly performed great miracles. Here's a list: MIRACLE SCRIPTURE PASSAGE Turns water into wine John 2.1-11 Orders the wind and waves to be quiet Mark 4.35-41 Walks on water Matthew 14.22-33 With five loaves and two fishes, feeds a crowd of about 5,000 people Matthew 14.13-21 Raises Lazarus to life John 11.17-44 Raises a dead girl to life Matthew 9.18-26 Gives sight to a man born blind John 9.1-41 Cures the woman who had been bleeding for twelve years Matthew 9.20-22 Cures a man of evil spirits Mark 5.1-20 Heals ten men with leprosy Luke 17.11-19 Heals a crippled man Mark 2.1-12 Heals a man who was deaf and could hardly talk Mark 7.31-37 Heals the high priest’s servant after the man's ear is cut off Luke 22.49-52 He was passing himself off as the king of the jews. Jewish religious leaders of the time wanted him dead. He was not an ordinary citizen by any means and should have rated a mention. |

Come on buddy show me a non-secular source for those miracles. Look just because the Jews wrote about his "miracles" didnt mean the Romans believed it. Again the Romans REALLY thought Jesus was simply a mad man and actually took pity on him by offering to crucify a murderer instead. You give Jesus WAY too much credit for being important to the Romans. The Roman never thought for a second that Jesus would be remembered and worshipped for thousands of years. :1orglaugh |

If that's not evidence of his existence I don't know what is. |

I wonder which is much harder to believe, that Jesus really existed and devoted his life for the benefit of the others or that your not adopted by your parents?
Can you remember the time during your birth? Why did you believed everyone says your not adopted. The answer is simple, follow your heart and not your playful mind. Respect everyones religion is very important. That's how we can keep peace in this sinful world. :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup |

Just like to share this quote: "It's always better to believe that there is a God and die finding there is none than not to believe in any God and die finding he existed."
I believe our prayers go to same GOD but of course you cannot serve 2 masters, "MONEY" or "GOD". :winkwink: :winkwink: :winkwink: |
watch some of the coverage on tv this weekend about president dipshit and going to church to celebrate jesus' rising from the tomb and shit and then tell me how we still have separation of church and state. we don't. don't get me started, i could go on forever about religion and politics. fucking losers.

Sorry I'm late to the thread, but I just wanted to point out a couple of major glaring flaws in the whole Jesus concept. First of all, there are records of a man named Jesus born in the area when Christianity's Jesus was born. The problem here is, there were dozens of them...Jesus was a very popular name at the time. Secondly, the story of Jesus is little different than that of Horus. There's also a "Messiah" about a century after Jesus with a very similar story (I don't remember the name). And finally, anyone who knows their history knows that the various holidays regarding Christianity were copied from older religions, which is a whole other ball of wax entirely. Why would we be looking at December 25th as the "birth of Christ" yet not a specific day in the year for the "death of Christ"? How does that make any sense at all? When we look at death records, they always mention a specific date, even for deaths that predate Jesus' supposed death. So why is it that no one knows his real date of death, but instead relates it to this one particular Sunday? Oh wait, that's right...because they needed an Ostare cover-up holiday. Shit man, I used to get in trouble for asking these logical questions as a kid. It's no wonder I grew up to detest religion when the people who trumpet this stuff can't even answer a simple question.

The plain and simple truth about much of Christianity is that it is in fact a somewhat eclectic mix of much earlier belife systems and mystery school teachings edited, altered and re-hashed by the church fathers as something that was "invented" with and by JC. |
Happy good friday to you as well llol

The Dec 25th date was set up hundreds of years later by the Chruch. Pagans at the time celebrated a winter holiday. By saying Christ was born at that time it was easier to convert the pagans. Actually some guys already figured out that Jeuss was really born sometime in late march early April. The reason why Easter changes is because the Jewish Passover holiday changes and Jesus died durring Passover. Rememebr Jesus and his first followers were Jewish. They didn't abandon their jewish traditions right away. Also different sect celebrate easter at different times. some do in fact have it on the same day each year. |

you mean like the christians did during the crusades? or like during the spanish inquisition? how about the religions today that kill gay people, hundreds of innocent people who happen to be in the way when a single cartoonist makes a toon that offends their religious beliefs - oh, and don't forget killing women who want an education or wear western clothing.
yup, those are obviously religions worthy of respect... showing them respect will obviously give us world peace :disgust Quote:
