Do chargebacks and refunds effect Affiliates?

Do chargebacks and refunds effect Affiliates? Do they take the loss too or does the program owner have to eat that money?

It comes back out of my money as an affiliate... Wait till you get those chargebacks that are for 4 months etc... then you'll be mad. All a part of business though.

Actually it depends on the program.

To my knowledge, I've never had money taken away from chargebacks on any PPS program I've sent traffic to. But having money taken away on rev-share programs is pretty common, get a small handful every month.

Yeah, i am finding that out. This is for a mainstream business but I have found that they side with us 99% of the time as opposed to the customer.
Does the same apply for adult?

In most cases the sponsors dont have any say in it - the adult processing companies/cc companies dont ask questions when it comes to chargebacks - they just auto-allow it
As far as the affiliate eating it - Ive yet to see a company that doesnt deduct it from your earnings in one way or another

That's because it costs more to fight it, then allow it. Plus you show up on the radar if you make a fuss.

we don't deduct...obviously cb's on accounts flag fraud quite quickly and we look into the validity of the account itself. if everything checks out, we incur the costs and do not deduct sales. one of the benefits of a PPS program for affiliates...also the reason why ACH payouts are lower, no deductions on returns which happen much more often than cb's.

I think that happens on Revshare, not in PPS.

Every program is different.

Ask them or look at their terms & conditions.

It affects PPS as well, but it's included in the overall calculation. You may not see any chargebacks/refunds in your stats, but in the end it doesn't make a difference is you get 35$ PPS (instead of let's say 40$ PPS in a perfect world without chargebacks) or if you get them deducted directly in revshare.

Most definitely, chargebacks affect affiliates. I think all the revshare sponsors I promote deduct chargebacks from the affiliate's commission. There are also some PPS sponsors that will deduct the PPS commission for a chargeback.

Interesting, it sounds like it's a case by case basis
