Who else is hiring right now? I've seen 10 notices easy about hiring lately.


and a ton more. Jesus, theres no talent left in the pool. What has happened to this industry.

I got news for you, many people who went off and started their own programs are not making even 30k a year if that. Did everyone go start their own programs and invest their life savings to try and be their own boss?


Gees, this blows. Finding someone qualified to work for you nowadays is harder than just hiring a green bean and training them like another well known program is doing.

And some companies are making it harder to hire than they need. They have a canidate that is qualified but because something that was asked was not exactly perfect, even though there was no way it could have been, and they get pissy and rude.

i certainly would not take that attitude or perspective. you cannot find those people that we all want. the only option is to take someone with the majority of what you want and train them to be the person you want them to be so someone else can steal them from you.



the thing i will not budge on is this will be an inhouse position. no way i'm gonna be working and my right hand is asleep in europe somewhere. lol.

That is one way of looking at it, but the other argument is that you can foster more loyalty out of someone that has a solid work history either in another field of adult or another field all together and training them. You also get someone that you can teach your way of doing things that doesn't already have a preconceived notion of how they want to do it.

Reason things like that happen, is a company may take someone that is a noob or what ever and train him to be what they want. However 9 times out of 10 the companies still looks at that person as a noob or we trained him so why should we pay him top dollar.

So once that person learns the gig he starts to realize he can make more money elsewhere. The simple fact is most companies want cheap labor but expect top performance. Then of course there is the other aspect, so many workers, expect top dollar and don't want to work for it.

So it's just how the game works, find someone good even if they are a noob and keep them happy.

Ive been trying to get hired and it doesn't seam to want to happen. I can guarantee you that I have more experience that 95% of the people applying too.

The talent pool in LA is only so big. Offer a huge signing bonus and relocation costs, company car, lots of other perks and I'm sure you'd fill your position quickly. Or do as Sly suggested, break it up into multiple positions, as you're really looking for something ultra rare.

The people I heard about amazed me. Because I know they are having a hard time finding someone to fill the position. It has way more of a requirment than just being inhouse like you want.

There's someone who was looking for a job MAYBE 3 days before they landed an incredible job for an incredible company. No public job offer, no public request for a job. That happens constantly and always has.

Oh, and this person wasn't looking for jobs while on another company's payroll/expense account - that ALSO happens a lot in this biz ;)

Yeh, its true. Its also why you see a lot of people moving to 5 different companies within 15 months in this industry. A friend hires them, they can't hack it and "move on to better opportunities", where another friend hires them, they can't hack it again and find another sucker to give them a "great opportunity".

Don't hire friends. Hire people that can do the job and you won't be constantly on the lookout for the next "great acquisition".

Please notice that the number of companies hiring is pretty much in direct proportion to the number of companies that have had people "move on to other things" or "mutually parted ways".

Some are growing... but some are just sticking another sucker into the revolving door.

Thats one of the things that I have seen. Some of these people want someone to relocate, but you have to be 100% perfect. Well the people that are 100% perfect dont want to relocate. So you take the person with the best skills, and catch them up to where you want them. In the mean time, use the skills that they do have.

word up. i have a strict policy of working for or hiring friends. i don't do it. i have a bunch of people i can stick in this position, but i won't do it. i've never worked for friends, nor will i. that doesnt mean i dont become friends after strangers hire me.

If I recall correctly from your post seeking applicants, you're only hiring for physical in-house employees. This is definitely limiting. I live in Florida...my employer isn't even in the US.

And as Peaches said...lots of hiring going on away from the boards too, further draining the pool of quality talent
