Honestly you have to say Marino. He holds an incredible amount of records but was never given the team around him to win it all. Give him the Dallas team that Aikman had and he'd win the SB. Give him either of the 49er teams that Young or Montana had an he'd win the SB. Hell make him the QB in Buffalo instead of Jim Kelly and they would have won 4 in a row instead of lose 4.

If I added the rest of my top 10, it would look like this:

6. Tom Brady
7. Dan Marino
8. John Elway
9. Payton Manning
10. Randall Cunningham (he paved the way for the new generation running quarterback)

By the end of Peyton's career, there will be no doubt he's the greatest QB ever.

The only time I really took an interest in American Football was in the early 90's I think (might be late 80's). The names I remeber are Dan Marino, Joe Montana, Jay Schraeder (sp?), John Elway.

So Im definately not the one to ask.

(also remember the fridge, the ikky stomp?, Mike Ditka, Jerry Rice, and that fugly who made some crappy films called boz).

Aikman, you must be tripping.

Steve Young shouldnt be in the top 5 either. Dan Marino should defintely be up there before both.

Bradshaw's stats actually suck except he has 4 rings.

Peyton mannings at 64% completions which is the highest in NFL history !

Some of the big name QB's are just that Big Names because they won some super bowls but their stats aren't the best !

winning does make the diff . . . stats are just stats . . and wins are wins . . can't argue about that . . it's a team leadership quality that marino didn't have

It is way to hard to really measure, specially with the sheer number of rule changes that have gone into effect since the late seventies early eighties. I am not to sure if some of the listed top QB's stats or longevity would of been as good as they are if everyone played under the same rules.

I think separately Dan Marino but since he was so greedy they never could geta good team for him to do anything with.

So his flaw was greed not skill.

Are you fucking kidding? Joe Montana by any sane person's judging is the best quarterback. Honestly, the question should be "who is the 2nd best quarterback of all-time?" because Joe Montana is a sure thing at #1...my list is pretty acurate as far as names on the list. Where someone chooses to put those names is personal preference.

Depends on what people consider the "best" as. Best all around QB talent-wise? Best stats? Best in the clutch?

I didn't mention Warren Moon in my top Qb's...I simply mentioned Randall Cunningham not for the fact that he was a black quarterback but for the fact that he changed the game as far as a new breed of running quarterbacks are concerned (which nowadays is becoming the norm)
