I do think that anyone studying religion in that area has a death wish. The tension is too high over that over there. Studying religion is ok. If you must study it go to a neutral territory and do so. It's not like no one expected this kind of thing could happen.

The University is built on land stolen in a campaign of conquest.
The students are legitimate targets, the company that makes coffee is a legitimate target, the company that provides pencils is a legitimate target. The homes of the workers of these companies are legitimate economic targets. They are targets by the same criteria used during WWII by the USAF to determine selection of targets in Europe.

Palestinian civilians are suicide bombers and they attack civilians.

When Israel attack Palestinians with their Army they are attacking civilians, not an Army, because the Palestinians do not have an Army.

Civilians are as much the enemy as military personell are.

Civilians provide the military with fresh recruits.

Civilians supply the economic fuel to allow an Army to fight (In Israel's case it is the economic fuel of the US). After the last incursion into Palestinian cities the Congress appropriated special funds (in addition to the 2.8 billion we give them anually) to resupply Israel's military.

Civilians supply the logistical capability of the military.

The US attacked civilians on a massive scale during the Second World War, on a lesser scale during Korea and Vietnam, but did in fact intentionally target civilians in both of those conflicts.

I have stated before that war is criminal in nature and is a dirty affair and trully civilized people would find other means to solve their problems, but civilization has not attained this level, as of this point in time, and may never attain this level.

I will repeat what I have stated many times: The tactics being used by the Palestinians and the Israelis, only exacerbate the problem (in my considered opinion) and the violence egaged in by both sides, will not attain the desired results for either side.

The wheel continues to turn.

When the US sent troops into Haiti the last time, one of the reasons provided by our government was because X number of people were being murdered in Haiti each year, which was a rather small percentage of the number of people being murdered in DC each year, so the Mayor of DC asked that troops be sent to DC also.
