No, I mean Americans being killed in that reigion can come as no surprise. Oh Well!
I do think that anyone studying religion in that area has a death wish. The tension is too high over that over there. Studying religion is ok. If you must study it go to a neutral territory and do so. It's not like no one expected this kind of thing could happen.
It's like trying to study Judaism right outside of Germany in the 30's, it could be done but a missle might come flying through your window! So the smart thing to do would be to do it somewhere else. Unfortunately people's blind following of faith doesn't allow them to do things that make sense in most cases. And when it comes to that reigion all of them are fucking idiots when it comes to religion.
