Everyone keeps mentioning the brain cell loss - that is no big deal...

The thing most pot smokers like to be in denial about is the fact that smoking weed causes the same (if not worse) kind of cancerous damage to your lungs/body that smoking cigarettes does.

The brain cells are not even a factor. thats some bullshit trivial shit the goverment fed into people to scare them away.

Your close to being right about the lungs. Its not worse, or even close to cigarettes. but you are putting materials into your lungs.

it's not that they're not unhealthy.. it's just that they're not terribly more unhealthy than most anything else....everything in moderation. I don't believe many drugs are unhealthy as long as you're not abusing them.. I mean pot has twice the tar of tabacco but how many cones in a cigarette?.. 2.. 3? and through a bong? a few cones is nothing.. there was a statistic a while back that walking down a busy street in the city is like smoking half a pack of cigarettes.. (and hence me comparing pot to tabacco - to link it with walking down the street.) so is the little bit of tar from pot going to worry you? and regarding the brain.. it's been medically sanctioned that smoking once a fortnight is the nice safe "moderate" dose/use for pot.. stops THC build up.. there is a VERY strong link between pot use and mental problems but it's only with problem users.. once again not good old fashioned moderation.. eating too many apples will kill you.. it's all in the frequency of use, most of it's about as bad as fast food..

nothing wrong with a healthy curiosity and moderate use of most drugs.

back to the topic.. I don't smoke pot, it affects me TOO much

.. actually I haven't even had much to drink lately.. a beer here and there.. a few shots of spirits with an old mate over a pool table.. im probably averaging a standard drink a week.. heheh.. fuck i've turned into a pussy

I sleep in 5 hour shifts have done so for years. I havent been able to sleep more than 5 hours straight since I quit drinking everyday.

I smoke herbs all the time and do not do the "munchy" thing, I dont have food urges, and actually I do not even consume sugar, as most do.

So not all smokers are chubby, video game playing, sleepy head stoners hehehe, although I am certain many are.

ON a cool note, I have smoked herbs with David Lee Roth, George Clinton of the P Funk, and Dr Hunter S Thompson.

There are a lot of things in the apothecary that one can burn. Lots of states of mind worth visiting. Few worth getting stuck in.

One of my favorite old bad habits was smoking
J. R. Bob Dobbs style pipes filled with:

1/6 mugwort
1/3 green sage
1/2 yerba santa

ground up, but not too fine.

This won't get you stoned. But it does get you to a different state of mind. Opens the bronchial tubes and makes you breathe deeper. If you were to smoke a whole pipefull, your dreams that evening would have strong visual clarity.

I don't do this anymore... unfiltered smoking is bad
for your lungs, and I run a lot these days. A water
pipe might help.
