Pretty much that, ive noticed a lot of people in the Porn industry smoke the stuff, any particular reason?

For some reason pot doent affect me, therefore no reason to smoke it.

Try some high grade that should do the trick

My hubby used to say the same thing. That was until we went to Amsterdam and he had a space cake AND a hash coffee. After that 'introduction' he's been affected in a more substantial way by more standard means. Although we don't smoke very often, once in a blue moon nowadays actually, it did take a good dosing to get his receptors to 'switch on'.

I love to smoke weed. It helps me concentrate and allows me to focus more on what im doing. It gives me the ability to sit at this damn computer for 12 hours straight and deal with all you guys.

I don't smoke. It makes people lazy, stupid, and uninspired. Best of all, they are too stoned to notice. I guess it works for some people, but it just seems like a terrible waste of talent, motivation, and brain cells. Whatever makes you happy though.

Yep. I for one have enough trouble in most of those categories. Plus I have this total aversion to drugs. (Hi, I'm a square.) So maybe I'm rare, but I don't smoke pot.

No, you're not rare. It's just that most of those that smoke weed are always looking for acceptance so you see them alot more. There are quite a few of them here, but nowhere close to a majority. Be proud that you don't smoke weed. It's too bad that the smokers have made you feel that it is somehow uncool not to smoke.

Cool just means "I like it"... So being uncool to people who would judge me based on my choice not to be intoxicated doesn't really phase me.

Same thing with drunks around here.

I've never seen it as 'cool' or 'uncool', just a personal choice.

Some people drink 3 beers a day, some people smoke 20-40 cigarettes a day, some people light up a bong 3 or 4 times a day (or in Fletch's case more like 10-15 :winkwink: )

I think it has a lot to do with how many young people there are on this board and how the attitude to a casual smoke has changed in the last 10 years. It is my own personal belief that MJ in moderation is no more harmful than the 3 beer, 20 cig a day habit. I base that opinion on all of the available research and information available to the general public today.

But it is my opinion and everyone has a right to disagree. I would hope that one day people will make choices NOT based on peer pressure but living in the world we live in....

I'll bet you smoke more in a week than I drink. Not to mention, I can sit on my front porch and drink a beer and not worry about going to jail. I suppose you're going to try to compare smoking a bowl to me having a beer or a glass of wine with dinner? Now THAT makes ME giggle.

It's not a habit. Not in my case anyway. Read any medical journal out there and it will tell you that a glass of wine is actually beneficial. I won't argue about this either. The answer is obvious...unless you're stoned.

I love weed and I spend New Years Eve in Amsterdam every year. Alcohol is a far more insidious drug. When have you ever heard of a husband coming home after work, smoking a bong and then bashing his wife? Alcohol fuels violence, weed fuels hunger and video game playing. I know what team I'm on.

Although I do love a good beer.

People who are alcoholics and stop drinking have serious withdrawals periods almost compared to that of Heroin clensing.

When someone stops smoking herbs cold turkey, they do not suffer withdrawal.

That is the difference between "habit" and "bodily addiciton."

PS, being from New Orleans I grew up in bars from when I was 16 until the night before I left New orleans in 97 to come to California.

Its been said more than once. They are both habits of different kinds. It all has to do with consuming in moderation. It isn't worth debating ANYWHERE though because the two sides will never come to an agreement. Anti-pot smoking drinkers will always condemn the smokers and vice versa.

When you're right, you're right. I don't have any trouble with waking up with my face in a toilet, but I have been known to wake up next to a fat chick from time to time.

I should probably mention that I don't drink. Well, hardly.

For years, I didn't allow alcohol into my system. I've lightened up a bit, but I suspect the only people who drink less than I do are successfully recovering alcoholics. About once a month, I will drink about a half a shot of something alcoholic in a drink... like coke with alcoholic grenadine (when I don't have the non-alco stuff), or a swig of the Moniack. Only stuff that I like the taste of, which is insanely rare.

And I agree with something from each side of this: I think pot smoking is a bad choice. I also think drinking is an equally bad choice. Of course, that judgement doesn't affect anyone but me.

This is the type of militant pothead that makes me hate all potheads no matter how calm, cool, and collected they are. When I think of a pothead, this is exactly the type of idiot I picture.

You are absolutely correct, between the girl and I, we blow an ounce a week.

To inform you, if I sat on my porch here in California and drank beer, a cop would surely drive by and ask me what I am doing. In Kansas you may be allowed to sit out front and drink beer all day, but not here. IN my neighborhood you can't even throw a "Garage sale" without a permit.

Regarding the "Wine with Dinner" facade... you don't have wine with dinner as you said. From the above, its sitting on the porch with a beer. When's the last time you had a glass of wine with dinner?

Back to the drinking on porch thing.

Last night I sat in an Upscale security guard Burbank Apartment complex smoking bowls with friends on a patio overlooking the pool. Security guard smiling and grinning.

Not sure on the stereotypes regarding us in Cali, you guys in Kansas surely seem to throw stereotypes far judging from posts.

But alas, here in Cali cops prefer pot smokers to drunks, and are way more apt to let you go for a joint than a can of beer. While this may not be provable in stats or anything I can post, its known amongst people here.

I know by experience that its a fact that people accept it when you come home drunk, and are freaking out when you come home after smoking some scunc. Now that is what I call not knowing what you talk about.

Most people I guess are thinking that every smoke leads to being a crackhead, While drinking large amounts off alcohol is much worser.

Had a friend was hooked on junk, dropped that for cocaine, lost his apt, lost his car, lost everything. Moved in with me, got him off all that, got him smoking some herbs.

Moved him to Portland, got him in Music School, secure life in school and a job as a recording engineer on the waqy certificate and even an apt.

I invited him out for a beer, he said he couldnt have a drop.

But he would smoke a bowl with me.

My gut feeling is Armed and Hammered had a stoner for a parent and he hates it. I have met many a child of a stoner who ends up hating weed. Same with alcoholics, kids of alcoholics hate drunks.

I guess it's a good thing I don't live in Cali. Sounds like a pretty crappy place to be. Night before last I had a single glass of wine with dinner. I made steaks on the grill. What goes better with a perfect steak than a glass of wine? I don't drink beer all day. I have 3-4 glasses of wine per week. I don't even drink THAT every day. Saturday is the only day I really drink much.
