if Hilary Clinton were anything but a selfish power hungry you know what she'd put her own whims aside and do what's best for the country and people she will spend the next years claiming she loves so much - she CANNOT win, Bama Lama Ding Dong CANNOT win - they should be working their asses off to help find and convince somebody to run who CAN win - and that includes trying to woo moderate Republicans. Teddy Kennedy's liver has a better chance of winning the presidency than these two political oddities.

so what other minority can they drag up that middle America will reject?

Why can't either one win, especially Obama. Seems to me that he is drawing quite the crowds at his events.

Just got done reading his book, and I gotta tell ya, he seems like the real deal. Here is a guy who has more personal international experience than our current dolt in charge.

Imagine just how many women and minorities are going to vote if one of these 2 are running. It is scaring the shit out of the republicans, because it cancels all those white rednecks by 100 times.

Obama would be great as a VP imo, I just don't see him able to carry the weight of the presidency on his shoulders. And if he runs with Hillary… he’ll kill his shot :| I’d love to be proven wrong though, we definitely do need a change from the traditional fifty year old+ white males (as spanky said). I know I would never vote for that harpy of a woman though. I just can’t vote for that she-bitch in good conscious.

Every time I hear Obama speak he reminds me of Bobby Kennedy.

Take a looksee at who the repubs are throwing out there. Talk about left overs, and they all seem to be supportive of the new Iraq increase. Real smart as over 70% of the US wants us out.

just go back and look at the electoral map from the last election - the goal of any political party should be to win - the blue states are decades away from electing a woman or minority - the democrats have to accept that reality. all the liberal dreamers will get caught up in the Bama and Hilary hype as will the media, they'll all delude themselves that it's possible one of them can be President - and polls will support the fantasy through the primaries and even the presidential campaign - UNTIL election night and then they'll all be standing on the stage weeping again as McCain or some other white middle aged male becomes the next President.

This may very well be the third election in a row where the Dems put up candidates that people just don't like.

A lot of people do not like Hillary. They see her as a rude, pent-up bitch. And Obama, he's making some moves now and come 2012 he may have a good shot, but right now he's just so "fresh" most people just don't know him.

Gore. People thought he was a stone. Kerry. People thought he was a stone. Clinton? People think she's a stone.

The Dems have 2 years to really spin some magic. They have been promising change, if they don't make a change, 2008 could really hurt. They didn't win because people like Dems, then won because people are pissed off at the Reps, that isn't a good position to be in.

I'll just say this:

2008 is a lifetime away in terms of politics. A lot can happen one way or the other in the next 18 months that will have an effect on the election. If Bush does some good it will help the republican candidate, if he does badly, it will hurt them some. Same with the democrats. they came into power in this last election making a lot of promises. If they fail to deliver on at least some of them they will hurt the chance of the democratic nominee.

That said I will say that anyone who states emphatically that Obama or Clinton can't win doesn't know as much about politics as they think they do. I'm not saying they will win, but there are scenarios out there where they most certainly could.
