I'll just say this:

2008 is a lifetime away in terms of politics. A lot can happen one way or the other in the next 18 months that will have an effect on the election. If Bush does some good it will help the republican candidate, if he does badly, it will hurt them some. Same with the democrats. they came into power in this last election making a lot of promises. If they fail to deliver on at least some of them they will hurt the chance of the democratic nominee.

That said I will say that anyone who states emphatically that Obama or Clinton can't win doesn't know as much about politics as they think they do. I'm not saying they will win, but there are scenarios out there where they most certainly could.
