Tell ya what Nina, I just turned on a synth, Ill scroll through and tweak a few sounds to give you a feel for the noise,... I mostly like doing sounds for movie or atmosphere and sound design...

atmosphere, or effect noises for horror.

I'd love to hear it... and you know, I am building that sex with monsters site... maybe you can do some sounds for it.... just a thought.

Actually, they fired the IT guy (there was only 1) at the college while I was there, and I did all the "mainframe" work for about a year. The keys to the cold room were mine. The paint on the walls in the computer center was his.

I should also mention that I liked star trek (still do), played dungeons and dragons (I'm playing neverwinter nights right now), and built electronics projects from radio shack. I also got the highest PSAT and SAT scores at my school.

umm a silly bell like noises pulses, then a fat bass pad comes in, I tweak all the noises to shit, it sounds horrible especially at the end, but i love noise, i really do... no to mention these toys carry nice price tags, the Nord was over 2k...

I have played an ARP 2600 though. Helped replace some keys in a 2600 once but thats about it for ARP. Nice old stuff.

Well I just turned a synth on and hit record and did the mp3 encoding in real time just so you could hear one of my synths,... I usually make pretty noises, but wouldnt want you guys to think of me any different hehehe,...

So... Here are my Geek and Nerd Credentials... This may be a little long...

Our first computer was an original Amiga when I was about 5. It was in the room next to my bedroom. Got a lot of use out of it.. games, graphics, etc.

I learned BASIC before 3rd grade in summer nerd camp. Also picked up a few other basic computer skills there.

Skipped 6th grade math. Teacher thought I was slow at math until we took a the "IOWA" test... Got bumped up as soon as he had the results. Oops.

Passed out of all middle-school and high school computer classes in 6th grade, mostly based on that 3rd grade class. (Passed 40 wmp typing requirement with hunt and peck.)

Took (real) SATs in 7th grade. Scored 1390 combined... 590 math, 800 verbal. (95th percentile for HS seniors in both cases.)

Got an Apple PowerBook 140 in 7th grade. My first computer of my own. Brought it to school with me, took notes on it.

1600 on SSATs in 8th grade. Also taking Algebra II at that point.

Membership to cyberspace.org BBS in 9th grade, calling into net with ZTerm. Dialed into a line used by the local Ivy League school at 2400 baud on a used modem. (More than my fair share of cyber-romances at the time.)

After taking summer classes at CTY "nerd camp" (now called IAAY), I was in Calculus in the 9th grade. (Of course, I got a D...)

As a freshman, I taught myself Photoshop and digital art on Mac LC 500-series in HS art room, as did a few friends. (More on this later.)

Was the computer kid at library job from 9th-11th grade. Ran a computer art show and contest there, which I founded. First year it was won by an 80 year old man. I already had 50+ distinct pieces of my own to display in a portfolio at the show.

Began well-respected minor goth webzine in 11th grade. Taught myself HTML by using "View source"... Wrote original site in SimpleText, later used PageMill for tables.

Visited major UK University (where I later got my MA). I was planning on doing a CS degree at the time. I explained my experience so far to the Prof I was interviewing with... Quote: "Oh. Um, I guess you will be skipping our introductory courses, then?"

Taught myself PageMaker to do layout of school literary magazine.

Audited Ivy Leage school C++ programming class in 11th grade.

Was scheduled to run a class in digital graphics and art in the art department at my HS, but too many students were too busy so it was cancelled.

Hired as Windows 95 / network / Mac "student" tech at local company in 12th grade. Learned most Windows and networking stuff on the job, was up in running in a couple of weeks.

Graduated HS a few months early once I realized I had the credit.

Hired as hardware tech at top-tier University in their Apple Authorized shop. Learned major hardware repairs on the job.

Began my first adult web site January 2001. (Age 22) Took Amateur pics on New Year's Eve, had the site up within a week. Now have a few personal sites, which we live off of.

Currently four computers in the house between the two of us. ADSL routed through my G4 to an AirPort station using gNAT, sharing the network on all our computers. I am on my... seventh computer personally.

How's that? ;) And yes, I know I qualify as both geek and nerd.

lol... but this is so great. Guys always complain that girls only want them for their money... geekiness and nerdiness are the most attractive qualities without a doubt.

It's not like an attractive woman would ever have fun at the expense of teasing some geeks with the idea that she finds them sexy, right? That'd *never* happen. ;) Oh well, I take it how I can get it.

you know, I was just having this discussion with someone on icq who doubted the fact that I find smart sexy... but I do, for real and for honest. I've always picked up the geeks... any guy who loves computers, books, sci-fi or who has a passion about something that's not quite the norm, those are the guys who always get to me. I can't get enough.

Every now and then, the world throws us something to remind us everything is cool. A girl like you, who also likes geeks... Cool.

I can't believe I forgot the Sci-Fi and Gamer credentials... I'll just run through a few...

Kid Stuff : Favorite movies as a kid... Star Wars, the Ice Pirates, etc. Favorite shows as a kid... Muppets and the D&D cartoon. Favorite books as a kid... all sorts of sci-fi.

Roleplaying I had the first D&D set before I had anyone to play it with, when I was like 10. My main social activity in HS was gaming (and MUDDs). In college, I was the head of the Game Society... For about a month, my (then) girlfriend lived in the game dungeon since I had the key.

LARP I played an important character in an area fantasy LARP for years... still do when I make it home. Threw my first event in my second year in the game, taking over the longest running event ever in the game. (12th year this year, still going under a friend.) Twice, I have travelled 23 hours straight to make it to the biggest event of the year... going from Scotland to New England.

Current Geekiness: I play in a Vampire LARP that is mostly play-by-email. I am in a Vampire game playing a class I made up in college. Running a game in the fall. Going to a Neil Gaiman signing next month.

Current Education: Getting a PhD in Philosophy. I specialize in the Philosophy of Mind, as well as the Metaphysics of things like Time...

Misc.: I own quite a few Heinlein first editions, among others. Read Stranger in a Strange Land when I was 11, have read it 14 times now. Mostly read Gaimain, Heinlein, Bester, and Pratchett these days.

I love Heinlein.... we did The Moon is a Harsh Mistress for one of my book of the month club cam shows. My members love sci-fi and turned me on to him.

Please tell me that was done with Photoshop.

I grew up on Heinlein... have read a number of his books a half-dozen or more times... "Job", "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress", "Time Enough for Love", "Stranger", "The Cat Who Walks Through Walls"...

In retrospect, I think his books have a ton to do with who I am now... From my views on violence, to my love for redheads, to my love of knowledge, to being sortof "poly"... I have a pretty weird set of father figures. ;)

To any fan of Heinlein... Read his story "All You Zombies"... it is an amazing short story, totally worth the trouble of finding a copy.

It's funny you mention Dungeons & Dragons, my kick ass girlfriend went thrift store shopping yesterday and look what she brought me home... original Dungeons N Dragons hardback Monstrous Manual, mint.... the only thing that beats a kick ass chick who digs guys into weird shit, is waking up next to one everyday.
