Leon Theremin created this what like in the 20s? I cant recall... hehehe no doubt the more "techno" kids using gear like this the more popular it becomes.... but in fact many great songs have used Theremins, the most 2 well known songs using the Theremin are "Surfin USA" and "The Scooby Theme" Theremins make the eeries woooohoooo hooooh sound. The high pitched eerie noises, my main thing is sound design and film scoring, so I have libraries of sound. Some wacky sound libraries I own, the 5 discs of noises from Apacolypse Now, and The Entire Hanah barbera collection of toon noises, funny but actually when adding sound to movies, how could you not own these? ;) |

I love Andy! Well, I just finished my own little nerd shoot... I think I have you all beat. I'll post the pics in a bit, as some inspiration. All this geek talk has gotten me excited. |

Since we're doing geeky photos here's my contribution. Two cisco 12008's with oc48 and oc12 cards, two Juniper M40's with gige cards, 3 suns, 3 raid arrays, two sparcs. |

you are by far the biggest geek I have ever seen mate. post your face in ASCII art man :thumbsup DynaMite |

The M40s don't have geek factor either... they're just tricked out BSD boxes. |
damn, you guys are turning me on so much I just had to run out and find a nerd so I could suck his cock.

. Now that F'ing "sucks". We're having a geekfest and the nerd gets a blow job. ...always the way, no wonder so many of geeks end with accountants, all the babes are with the nerds. |
Hey, that's Gary!!!

(It isn't spam if it isn't my site, right? ;) )
http://www.nakkidnerds.com This site is in my coalition. Real geeky and nerdy girls take of their clothes. Kewl. |
I just read through all the posts, this is going to be harder to decide than I thought, there are some amazing geeks/nerds around here, but I love it! I think the sexiest quality any man can have is the size of his brain, followed by the size of his.... well, you know.

A space shuttle is not just a tricked out airplane. Nor is a juniper a tricked out bsd box. Much engineering talent has gone into both to make better thing than the base. Junos is based on BSD yes, but so for that matter is IOS, Solaris and Mac OSX. Juniper Networks make a great product and have great support. The class I went to at Juniper was even taught by Jeff Doyle . The above picture is myself and Linus Torvalds (founder of the Linux movement) at Fry's Electronics. And for more hot router action here are some loaded 12012s. http://www.meancock.com/images/12012b.jpg |

The Xyplex is not very impressive, they're outdated and on ebay for under $100.00.

How much did you pay him to get him in there? Now as to the M40, it's a fucked over NetStar from the Cairn project that those theiving Juniper guys STOLE, just like Cisco stole from Stanford. (website is still online!) ... Uhm can we some REAL innovation in routers instead of "HOT" intellectual property? If you don't know your history, it'll bite ya in the ass. (or so the quote goes) NO GEEK POINTS for poser tech. ... again though, Linus was a cool shot! |
wow...dont understand a word you guys are saying

I love it... geek fights. Maybe we should start a site. |

you europeans give me a headache :1orglaugh

No we're not fighting. I'm being educated.
And now that I've been educated about real networking I'm going to pull out all the Ciscos and Junipers and replace them with BSD boxes with lots of T1/Ethernet interfaces and Xyplex routers. I don't know yet how I'll migrate over all the CEF, OSPF, BGP, ISIS, ISL, HSRP and MPLS but I'm sure there's a BSD hack out there somewhere. If not we'll hire a team to design some new protocols, hardware and software from scratch. The last thing we would want to do would be to look like we imitated someone else and didn't innovate every step of the way. |

the Lucent from the Asend from the Netstar are still directly related to 27 year old tech STOLEN by Cisco from Stanford.... Atleast Xyplex was 100% ground up... and I do have the only one ever in existance to run commerically BGP4 :thumbsup No guys, this is NOT geek fighting. This is just seeing how big the sandbox is. Geeks can't fight without a 24 of beer, a bottle of hard liquor and atleast 2 strippers. Cheers! |
damn. I'm swooning.

okay fuckers here the studio Doepfer a100 SYnthesizer, you guys can talk your data transfer shit, I make noise.
This is the same a100 modules used to build a wall of synth, the top left 25 racks are just drum modules for analog drum sounds and 64 track analog sequencers for synchronizing full orchestras of midi data from a mac laptop or my synths or theremin controller ;) I'm not trying to win the geek contest, I love talking about synths. okay this is as far as I will go into my real life, later. close up I like knobs. |

My Roots. Geek or Nerd. You decide. In high school, I worked at a local college programming financial aid applications on a PDP 11/44. I was also a TA for intro computer classes at the same college. I had a second job working at a library. I worked over 30 hours a week for my second two years of high school. I also took math classes at a local community college during the school day. I used my income not to buy a car or a spring break vacation (or a good haircut), but instead to buy a $5000 computer. I met my girlfriend at the time in one of my math classes. She was going to a different high school and taking classes at the same community college. Oh, I drove a 1980 chevette. |

I worked in recording Studios in New Orleans under Marc Bingham the man who "orchestrated" REM's out of time... taught me alot about Orchestra and strings particularly with shaping their sounds from white noise, pink noise etc,... into a pretty noise, a soft pad or sweet symphonic string. I love sound, and love shaping it. Noise actually, its all noise ratios. Sometimes its the silence between notes that make a sound. damn Nina got me all talking n shit.... I'm stoned too hehehe taking a design break. *bowl* :winkwink: |
