Anyone ever have hypnosis as a form of therapy?
I'm curious what the experience was like... did you do the whole blacking out thing and waking up later with no recollection of what happened?

I have... never blacked out, lol!
It's more like, relaxing of the mind to allow the subconscious mind to relax and take it all in. It was great. Never hurts anyone to take a few deep breathes and relax a few times a day. Sitting at the computer can be pretty hard on the eye's, neck and back. I had a tape made for me and I could never make it until the end, before I was alseep at night. Love it! |

I went to a hypnotist to quit smoking a few years back. Wasn't as cool as it looked on TV. Pretty relaxing experience, though. Worked for a little while.

Yeah 4 sure man.... I started from about 11 yrs and found it no use at the time. After seeing all the stuff about it and its benefits being screemed from the rooftops I like to say that if u think it works 4 u then it probably is but 4 me i found it a crock.

I used to have panic disorder. I was completely fucked and in a state of panic almost non-stop for 4 months. I was damned near ready to kill myself. I ended up going for acupuncture, pills, everything.
Acupuncture = temp fix for that day Pills = no effect, gave me the shits for first couple days Hypno-Therapy: fixed me good. It was fuckign A M A Z I N G. She had me lay down and played some music. Told me to close my eyes and imagine im walking down a path, and asked me to describe what i saw. I ended up with this vision by the end of it of like some sorta machines mining gold, and saw my grandpa in some clouds with god or something. When i woke up, i was super disoriented and had no idea where i was but for the first time in 4 months i felt calm. Basically, its like talkign while you are dreaming while awake.

My mom's secretary went about 3 weeks ago to stop smoking. She's in her late 40s and has smoked since she was 15 and never been able to quit for more than 2 days.
So far, she hasn't smoked. I personally think it was more about her finally being ready to quit, but she swears it's the only thing that's ever worked.
