Bush has ruined the republicans for years to come

Iraq is not going away anytime soon and if democrats win in 2008 then expect some hearings and convictions on Iraq.

5 years from now there will be all these news reports about soliders from Iraq suferring some some wierd illness to push Iraq back into the lime light.

Israel will continue to stir up shit and keep the middle east in a mess thus reminding the US that we don't want to go in there again.

The Taliban will most likely regain power
(we will get out before it turns into Iraq)

Like North korea, Iran will get a nuke.

People will have a hard time forgetting the last six years.

Republicans might be fucked up for the next 20 years.

And frankly I think they deserve it. What a fucking mess the "New World Order" became.

The republicans have a real chance now to say "fuck 2008", toss up a useless cannon-fodder presidential candidate, and set up for a solid and hard run in 2012 to retake everything. This is one of those situations where you can see which way the wind blows, and whoever the democratic prez nominee is in 2008 will have a fairly clear run. Heck, some of the people touted as potential republican candidates lost their senate and house seats last night, so they are truly screwed.

The pendulum of power.

The problem isn't conservatism either. Goldwater conservatives are great. Even some Reagan era conservatives make the grade. The problem is the mixing of church and state and the neo-cons.

I think conservatives in general got a big wake up call yesterday.

Thanks man. You just can't expect to have a true democracy, where all religions are supposedly protected by the constitution and everyone is entitled to their own set of beliefs, and have a mainly christian agenda pushed on everyone. Separation of church and state is absolutely imperative.

Barry Goldwater was the first true liberal...even though he was a Conservative. Conservatives should take a note from the old days, Goldwater believed in separation of church and state and he believed in the Government staying the fuck out of people's private lives for the most part. That's where it needs to be.

Middle of the road Conservatives and Middle of the road Liberals would do this country a lot of good. You just can't have it slanted so far to the left or right. There has to be a medium set of values that both parties can work together with.

I would like to actually see the Dems try to tighten down on the amount of church that's involved with the state now that they have both houses, but I don't think it's on their agenda at this point.

It's already Iraq, if not worse. Bush clearly showed how stupid he is when it comes to Afganistan. He's given Musharraf $4 BILLION in debt relief and a huge arms deal (including F16s) expecting that Musharraf will deal with the Taliban etc. in Pakistan. But the reality is, he can't. They'e already tried to kill Musharraf at least twice now, and half the millitary has brothers and firends etc. in the Taliban. So if Musharraf tried to get anything done, they'd just overthrow him and turn Pakistan into a country like Iran or the pre-war Afganistan. So now, the Taliban etc. are flooding accross the borders from Pakistan and the only way it could even come close to being stopped would be an "invasion" of Pakistan. Which would then become 3 fucked up countries with all our militaries dieing in and no way to ever exit. Fucking idiots. You'd think that Russias experience with Afganistan would have been a clear indication of what would happen.

I think the core problem is arrogant supremecy, and ignorance among them.

The repubs could have won in Iraq if we hadn't gone in with such arrogance that "they would welcome us as liberators". "Win their hearts and minds"...that one used to make me crindge, like muslims were these stupid morons that would eat out of our hands.

And the supremecy that "we" can do it better then them...Sorry but when it came to controling Iraq Sadam did it better.

Rumsfeld refusing to listen to Collen Powel was the ultimate supremecy trip. Look where it got him. Powel ran the show in the first Iraq war and Bushco decided they didn't need his military insite. Bolo move of the century!
It was just pure arrogance.

And last but not least:
"I'm the leader of the most powerful nation in the world"
"We are the leader of the FREE world"
"Iran, Iraq and North Korea form an axis of evil"

Did you ever play "King of the hill" as a kid?
Bush played it as a president and wonders why forces showed up to knock him off.

But of all the dumb-assed-puppet-monkeys in the world, Tony Blair eclipsed them all.

I'd be more concerned about ruining the country than showing any concern for republicans. The damage done up to this point is awesome and gonna cost plenty money and smart action to limit further damage and get back to any point of credibility.

Seriously doubt the real extent of the damage is known yet. Sad shit.

Great post. And if I may add to it a bit, I don't know why we expect people in other nations, who have been doing the same thing for thousands of years, to respect us OR support us in wars where we try and instill on others, what we can't even accomplish here at home.

We need to fix our own shit before we try and play babysitter to the world. Saddam or no Saddam, if some outside entity came into my country and everywhere they went there was utter death and destruction, and I had seen thousands of my family and country men caught in the crossfire, I'd pick up the first AK-47 I could find and I'd try to kill as many of them as I could find.

It's going to take 15 years (atleast) of diplomacy to fix what Bush's whitehouse has fucked up in 6. We had the support of the world after 9/11 and he wasted it. Gone the way of the dodo because of his arrogant cowboy antics and better than you attitude.

This was an average election loss for a 6 year president and even Clinton got wacked really bad so I wouldn't read too much into any one reason.

The exit polls show only 37% voted Dem because of Iraq and as a matter of fact most of the Dems who won are not for pulling out of Iraq.

The exit polls showed almost 45% voted against the GOP because they didn't handle their scandals very well.

Most of the Dems who got elected and took out a GOPer ran as the more conservative and who knows what they'll do after they get to Washington ?

Bush bankrupted the USA several times more than it was already bankrupt.

Among other things.

Good job.

Dude, you still don't get it. I lot of people who are against the war keep their mouths shut so they will not be called unpatriotic. America is fed up with bullshit. Dems gettings asked about the war in interviews are not going to shoot their mouths off and then go back to work where the company has posted a banner in the lunch area saying "support our troops".

It was easy to speak out for the war, those opposed faced becoming a pariah, traitor, terrorist sympothizer...etc

The fall-out from Iraq is still yet to come. It's only going to get worse as newly unclassifide information gets out and republicans start turning on Bush so they can get eleted in 2008.

Think of it this way. Admitting you were against the war was like admitting you masterbate. Now go take that poll and see how many people give a "safe" answer.
